Thanks to draft reporter Tony Pauline, we have the first confirmed name (https://twitter.com/TonyPauline/status/310181866110066690) of a Bills pre-draft visitor in 2013: Arizona quarterback Matt Scott (http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/players/35195/matt-scott), who replaced Philadelphia Eagles (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/philadelphia-eagles) quarterback Nick Foles (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/154916/nick-foles) with the Wildcats last season.

A buzzworthy, under-the-radar prospect whose name has gained steam of late, the 6'2", 213-pound Scott is a very good athlete that put up very good numbers (60.3 percent completions, 3,620 yards, 27 touchdowns, 14 interceptions) as a one-year starter under head coach Rich Rodriguez.

Good. I like this kid a lot, I'm glad he's on Nix's radar.

University of Arizona QB Matt Scott, considered a mid-round pick by most draft prognosticators, had his pro day on Thursday and by all accounts fared well. He also mentioned which teams have been expressing the most interest in him.

Scott, who threw 85 passes at his pro day in Tucson – 20 more than normal in an effort to show stamina and endurance, is scheduled to have a pre-draft visit with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, but told the Arizona Daily Star that San Diego, Arizona, Seattle, Jacksonville and Buffalo are the teams that have appeared most interested (http://azstarnet.com/sports/football/college/wildcats/arizona-football-about-nfl-teams-watch-scott-at-pro-day/article_daae01f3-c1f0-5fed-b54a-b79f4fadb173.html).

Many in the scouting community have had nothing but great things to say about Arizona Wildcats quarterback Matt Scott and now, following the Arizona Pro Day, a number of coaches are starting to recognize his talent and NFL teams are lining up for private workouts and interviews.

In the recent weeks, Scott has gone from a late-round sleeper, to mid-round project, to a late-second or third-round prospect.

Arizona grad here. I was not hot on Foles last year and I think in the end he flames out. Scott's situation is a little bit different, but I still see him as a gamble. He will have a hard time with the long ball, especially in our conditions. He is very mobile, but I think NFL defenses will be quick enough to contain him. He's not good enough at any one thing to make me think he has a better than even chance of being successful at the next level. No higher than a 4th IMO.

He really needs to go to a team with a good QB coach (which I hope we have) that can fix his throwing mechanics and footwork. The natural talent to be a good passer is THERE. But his mechanics are just all over the place and his translation from rich rods (damn him to hell) system might take a year or two.

He needs to sit, because he's a project, but I really wouldn't mind if we brought him in, but no earlier than the 4th round. There is just too much negative on him at this point to justify any better.

IF he's a project I'll take the word on it, but it's a name I hadn't heard of until checking the board.

There are a lot of varying opinions on him. From what I'v seen, he has a quick throwing motion, but it's a 3/4 motion. It need to be retooled because he's not tall enough for a lot of his passes to get through passing lanes with that motion. His footwork and pocket awareness need to be worked on as well. Rich Rod's system is "one read, if it's not there, tuck it and go" for about 95% of his plays. It's not conductive to great QB play, so that'll have to be taught a more pro based offense as well. Under center is a huge issue for him, and when he misses a few times, balls start to float on him and he's thrown more than a few picks that way.

But his pros ARE there. Good arm, very good athlete, excellent thrower on the run, not elite speed, but is very quick, and what I like best, even when he's running around he tries to pass first. That's a good sign. But the problems that he does have are big enough that he's a project player. A project player with starting caliber upside, but a project player.

If the Bills are interested in taking a second QB in the draft, I'm all for it, but in no way do I want him to be our first/only QB selected. If teams are planing on using him as "read option" type QB, I would be concerned with his size, he seems a little frail to me, to absorb many big hits. The Bills need more than a "project QB."

Overall I'm not a fan. He's a project, at best, at the pro level. I'd be fine if they got him in the 4th or later. But if they took him higher than that I'd call it a waste of a pick.
