Re: Great news
I admire that he still wants to play and that he would like to play here. But I think that the Bills are finally dismantling this team and bringing in a 30+ year old vet on the downside of his career would be the wrong thing to do at this point. I'd prefer having young guys play and develop than give too many snaps to a guy that's not going to be here in a year or two.

Re: Great news
Screw all that. Sign him. Retire him as a Bill. He couldn't be worse than Shep.
When's the last time someone said he wanted to play for the Bills anyways?

Re: Great news
So a vet minimum contract? I guess the question would be if he is better than the backup at his position... Would it be stunting the growth of someone else.
I consider him an upgrade to Greg LLoyd, Brian Smith, and Chris White. I don;t care if any of them are still here.
So if it ends up as:
OLB- Lawson, Bradham, Scott, and a rookie like Zaviar Gooden
ILB- Spikes, a Rookie like Bostic, and Sheppard
I'd be fine with that.

Re: Great news
It's official. The Bills are moving to the Champions League (Seniors)
They open in June vs. the Canton Bulldogs. Games start at 11am Saturdays and the early bird special starts serving after at 2:30pm.Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

Re: Great news
I posted this yesterday... he's basically on an ass kissing tour.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
