I only wish this were true.
Darcy's so delusional that he still thinks this team is going to the playoffs.
He'll move a young guy like McNabb or Weber and bring in a rent-a-player vet like Zubrus, Dominic Moore, Raffi Torres, Steve Bernier etc to "get us over the hump." The guy will have 3 points as a Sabre and be gone in July. Meanwhile we will still miss the playoffs by 7-8 points.Comment

exactly. darcy is mentally trying to hold onto his job. the presser at lindy's firing showed a guy who knows his time is up.
and the sabres for whatever reason left the keys in reigers hands. unless he has to clear trades with someone else, the sabres are lining themselves up for a classic bad push for the playoff trade.
And frankly, darcy is stupid enough to watch these games and say, "we are tying games, we need to win them" instead of "we are blowing games, have a weak core, and young guys who have no one to learn from."
the sabres need to get a real veteran defensemen to stay home while Tyler regains his confidence as an offensive defenseman. Get him a tallinder back.
the sabres also need a peca like center as their #1 center so that hodgson lines up to a line 2 center...because he would be quite dominant that way.
And then they need to find grit that isn't defined by fighting, but defined that they go into the corner and exhaust people for battling hard for the puck and are contributors to the 3rd and 4th line without being a total liability to go to the box.Comment

- All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
