View Full Version : Most exciting game all year

It certainly wasn't the best-played game by the Sabres, but it was by far the most fun to watch all year.

Ott was a wrecking ball all game. He took a stupid penalty but came through when it counted.

Poms had a great goal but gave up a 2 on one on the PP.

And I hate giving up the extra point,

But from a fan perspective, it was a hard- played back and forth game throughout. Definitely glad I stayed up to watch it.

It was a fun game to watch & we got 2 points, a win / win situation.

Yes it was a great game to watch. Foligno and Ott have been on fire on these new lines. Hodgson and Pommers have been very consistant all year on offense, and Flynn and Porter are coming along very nicely. I like our future

Don't talk about future with some of these guys.....
Been saying that many times...
Team is very young still only 3 players over 31 yrs old.....
The core forwards are very young.....

Everyone wants a trade but all teams want Ennis, Foligno, hodgson , etc.....

i wanted to see Myers drop that fool, refs kept splitting up fights since the first 2

I think Myers did great there. It would have been a bad time to put Buffalo on the PK. He did the right thing not to escalate it there.

SkateZilla

not escalate?

Myers had guided him to the boards talking to him, and dropped his glove and started tugging, the other guy was cringing and the ref came in and separated them.

Myers wanted to fight, refs split it up.

yeah I actually thought Myers was going to get an instigator or a roughing on that one. He had definitely dropped at least one glove.

wish we could've won it in regulation and sent the Toronto fans home crying without ANY points instead of one! Nothing would have pleased me more to see the Sabres knock the Leafs out of the playoffs! I hate the Leafs their fans are so arrogant not as bad as Montreal fans but Toronto fans rank 2nd and their coach Randy Carlyle is an idiot.

Definitely the most entertaining game of the year. And possibly something to build some real momentum behind....we shall see.

watching home games against the Leafs SUCK because you can hear the Leafs fans cheering.

It's quite common to hear fans cheering for the Sabres on the road- it happens in pretty much every city in the South and West. But the only time the opposing fans can be heard in our building is against Toronto.

4 Power Play goals is nice, but Sabres SUCK 5 on 5.

4? I'm fairly sure it was 2 on the PP, 1 at 5v5, 1 at 4v4.

i know ennis's gaol was considered "even strength because it went in at exactly the 2:00 min mark of the penalty

again the sabres first goal wasnt on the PP it was technically even strength because the penalty had expired as the goal went in

Technically speaking, you get the whole 2 minutes on the PP & things happened on the PP to set that goal up before all the time expired.

you're right and the toronto player still had one foot in the box when he scored, but it comes down to technicalities

If we can get 4 PP goals a game, we don't really need any 5 on 5 goals.

Besides, the rest of this season has been the complete opposite. The team hasn't been bad scoring 5 on 5- it's been giving up goals and horrendous PP's holding them back.

If we hit near this much on our PP, we'll be winning many more games. I'd like to see a consistent play like this ongoing, one game means very little but it is a base to build from for us. I'd like us to see the PP as our time to score now, the better we are the more likely for success.
