    Drafting a QB

There is no sure thing in this years draft. Would it be a waste to draft lets say Barkly/Smith in round one then Manual/Nassib in round two. Develop both. Maybe we get one good one. If we happen to get two then we can trade one. I mean it's not like we are going to the playoffs this year. We stink it up, have a top 3 pick next year. If we miss this year then we have the high pick for next year for a QB. If we hit then next years pick is BPA. Win, Win scenario. Imma gonna call Buddy now at this number. (716) 648-1800

      Re: Drafting a QB

We have 6 draft picks and 5 major holes. Using 2 to gamble on QB's in a weak QB class is ****ing stupid.

Don't forget that this is the franchise that has developed exactly one QB in their entire history: Jim Kelly. And even that's debatable because he had a lot of experience in the USFL before finally coming to Buffalo.

            No.

We need to draft one at 8 then trade all of our picks to draft up to 9 and take the best available QB.

Meanwhile, both can get murdered by our lack of a full offensive line/no receivers to throw to/1 good tight end/a defense so full of holes they'll be playing catch up constantly.

            Yeah, let's do that.

No. That basically would be an admission that the Bills front office has absolutely no idea what they are doing. First round QB and day three QB sure, take a flyer but not in back-to-back rounds.

Jim Kelly wasn't developed by us but Joe Ferguson was. Although one could argue he was more of a game manager as OJ lead his offenses.

This franchise developed Joe Ferguson into a decade plus starter. This franchise developed Daryl Lamonica-now they were stupid to trade him in his prime, but they were the ones who developed him. They also developed Frank Reich into the best backup in the league. Obviously nothing recent, but in the team's history more than Jim Kelly.

I think the problem is with the team's recent scouting staff that doesn't know how to properly evaluate QBs. Our only hope is that the head coach & OC saw enough in college the past few years to have a better read on this year's QB class than our scouts.

Fergy started 5+ years after OJ left, including the best of the Knox years when we had a winning team.

That was my thought exactly. Why speculate on other possible draft picks if you already know who the Bills are going to draft. LOL
