"Buffalobills.com has confirmed that Washington free agent TE Fred Davis is in the building at One Bills Drive (http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Free-agent-TE-Fred-Davis-visits-Bills/bfa3d033-0e18-40f3-92ea-19e291b4197f)on a free agent visit.
Davis arrived in town this morning and completed his physical with team doctors. He’s now touring the team’s facility and will be meeting with Bills coaches this afternoon.
You can read more here (http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Free-agent-TE-Fred-Davis-visits-Bills/bfa3d033-0e18-40f3-92ea-19e291b4197f)."

I would think if he failed the physical he wouldn't continue the visit. But, I suppose the results may not yet be known.

I think we have a real shot to sign him.

LaCan't-see-straight says Davis will meet with the Jets tomorrow... That's if he leaves unsigned.

If Davis signs today, you can bet the Bills convinced him they have a plan in place for QB that he liked enough to come on board.

He shouldn't leave. if he comes back healthy, a great move for this team. Tight End has been a need for years now. With Fred and Chamdler int he mix we woudl be strong at the position

Um, my guess is he is looking for the most available dollars above all else. We are not talking about Tony Gonzalez here.

This guy is not going to a savior just because he's a brand name TE. Smart potential signing, but no need to lock the door behind the guy..

Doesn't mean much.Agreed. This has been fairly typical for FA's visiting the Bills for a few years now. Several have just visited and left without a contract.

But I hope we do sign him.

I heard they were going to tie Chandler's bad leg to Fred's bad lag and make one super TE. They will 3 legged hop and have four hands.

I think hearing of a meeting with media before a contract has been signed means he is at least going to visit with the Jets.

IDK man. I seem to remember another FA visitor that met with the media first and then signed before leaving. I just can't remember who it was off the top of my head.

I see no point to a PC unless it is to announce he is signed.

What else would they have it for? To say " I had a nice visit, now on to NJ where I will sign with the Jets."

Lots of FAs have done that in Buffalo. Didn't Stanford Routt do that last year? And that Arizona WR 2 years ago...

WGR is talking about the horrible Sabres when it's meaningless, the Bills have a FA talking to the media and they are supposed to be the Bills official station...

No but they just stood up there and talked about how great the visit was and how they can fit in if they were to sign. Then they go sign elsewhere.

As much as I like Davis, I do not wish to find out he's another TE needing lots of rehab/recovery time. Bills already have that in Chandler.

Bills need actual HEALTHY alternatives at positions of need.

the desperation at OBD is more than palbable. My problem is the Bills fans who will lap this potential signing up as a sign of progress.

Did you forget the process already? When they are a Buffalo Bill or thinking about joining the Bills then they are automatically a tier above their actual level. If they sign somewhere else or especially if they sign with somebody in the division they really weren't that good and it was a horrible move by the other team. It can change from one day to the other.

BillsFever21
03-28-2013, 04:26 PM
I'll be fine with the signing if it's on the cheap for around 3 million a year or mostly based on incentives. Anything more then that then the move was nothing special. He's a good player but he is far from elite and also coming off a serious knee injury which should reduce his guaranteed money.

Brandon Myers who had a big year in Oakland last year received around an average of 3.5 million a year. He should be somewhere around that range. We'll see when it comes to the Bills though.

Who cares what these idiots do off the field.

Score touch downs and keep the other guys from scoring touch downs that's all that matters.

What he would say is, well the thing that interests me about buffalo is they way over paid for a certain DE last year and if I can get an obsured amount of money from them I would love to play here.
