    Falcons want to trade up

Two years ago, the Falcons made no secret in the days before the draft that they were looking to trade up to get a wide receiver, and they would eventually send two first-round picks, a second-round pick and two fourth-round picks to Cleveland so that they could draft Julio Jones sixth overall.

Trading back to 30 is not appealing to me really...but who knows what the offer might be?

Give us their 2nd rounder and Tony Gonzalez and I'll take it.

You gotta be kidding... The same Tony Gonzalez that was 3/4 of the way to retirement last year and is 37 years old...?

Trading from 30 to 8 would take a lot... They'd need to start with the #30, their second rounder and their 1st rounder next year for me to even think about it.

Does it really matter? The Bills FO couldn't trade their way out of playground with bag full of candy.

I think it would take something close to swapping picks, a third and next year's first. The Bills could then trade up using number 30 and the extra third rd pick from Atlanta if they need to and get Barkley or Nassib around 22-25. the Bills get their QB and get another first round pick next year.

What did they trade a couple years ago to move up for Julio Jones? I seem to remember that they paid a pretty steep price.

If 49ers trade up it would be for a CB or pass rusher, even though they sighed Osi.

Re: Falcons want to trade up

30 would move us right out of the play maker field, but it would assure we dont overdraft a qb.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                  It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

That's not near enough. They'd have to give up way more

The Falcons really coveted a receiver in the first round because they were eager to move up from the 27th spot. It was a blockbuster deal. In exchange for getting the sixth pick, Atlanta gave the Browns five -- five! -- draft picks: their 1st- (27th overall), second- (59th) and fourth-round (124th) picks this year and their first- and fourth-round picks in 2012.

When they traded for Julio, they moved up from 27 to 6th, so it would be almost the same as if they jumped from 30 to 8 this year.

They gave Cleveland two 1's, a 2, and two 4's.

So if we were to expect similar value, we would expect to receive at least their 1 and 2 this year, plus their 1 or 2 next year, and some late-rounders thrown in.

                        I'd be all over that.

If Nassib is our guy, 30th would be dead on.
