Here's some proof:

Basically Miami only paid half price for the move up for Jordan.

Its not our fault the Raiders didnt ask for more.

it's not outdated, it's the reality of a "market"... when you're selling and no one is buying, you're gonna be forced to sell lower than you want to.

That's why an unchanging chart with fixed values for each pick is meaningless.

A: The Value Chart is little more than a guideline. A pick is only as valuable as another team is willing to pay for it. That goes for any pick in any round.

B: Pretty sure the chart was made before the new CBA, which really cut back on how much money is paid to draft picks, especially in the first round.

So, yeah, the chart probably is outdated, but again, the pick is only worth what another team is willing to pay for it, regardless of what the chart says it is worth.

The Raiders were desperate, they got awful value.

The rest of the trades were very close to the old chart's values, as a matter of fact the Bills trade was almost even with the Bills getting a +8 win.

It was followed just about to a tee in the Bills' trade

They gave up:

8-1400
71- 235

Total 1635

They received

16- 1000
46- 440
78- 200
222- 2.6

Total 1642.6

Oakland's given away so many 1sts, they aren't used to drafting much.

I have no idea what Minny was thinking, but that's their problem.

The other trades were all pretty close in value, which / this thread.

Read this. Teams are still using it, and it's causing them to give up too much.

It's more about what is available. The Raiders knew they wanted Hayden, they also knew there was no point in drafting him at #3. Miami was their best offer so they took it. What point would it be to just draft Hayden at 3 because no one offered "fair value."

The Pats made out like bandits!

Outdated might not be the best term (although it is quite old). Inaccurate in terms of actual value might be a better term.
