I know we need some offensive weapons, but I think BPA is going to be defense.

Kevin Minter or Manti Te'o at LB
Johnthan Banks or Jamar Taylor at CB

I think we can get a WR, TE or Safety a little bit later.

Finally another QB taken. In hindsight the Bills panicked once again and unless somebody else wanted him they still could've had him. At the worse they still would've had second choice.

I'm still fine with the pick but he better work out after all of this. We could've taken Jarvis Jones and still had Manuel.

mjt328

04-26-2013, 05:50 PM
Well the controversy and future of the AFC East just started tonight since we both drafted one and the Dolphins took one last year. If Geno ends up better then Manuel then all hell will break loose.

This just shows how bad the Bills front office is at working the value of the draft. I like the pick of Manuel but we could've had Jones and Manuel.

So much for all of these QB's that were going to be taken. All of you who said there would be at least three in the first round and 5 QB's taken by the time Buffalo drafted just got punked once again. Had we not traded down and got the extra pick I would be furious. I'm fine with the person but not where they took him.

I'm not really impressed with the current TEs, at least not enough to take one in the 2nd round.

I still think linebacker is our biggest remaining need. I'm torn between Arthur Brown and Kevin Minter.

With Aaron Williams moving to safety, cornerback could also be a good pick here. A guy like Jamar Taylor would be nice.

I said before that we'd be taking a WR (check), a CB and a wild card (not sure). If I had to guess, I'd say that third position might be a DL for Pettine. Could also be an OLB or TE.

This is shaping up to be a pretty terrible draft, aside from the Robert Woods pick.

I can't blame Nix for reaching on Manuel. There was too much risk to wait until the 2nd. However in retrospect, the 3rd QB didn't go off the board until #73. If we truly believed there were 2-3 franchise guys, we certainly could have waited.

Alonso went about where he was expected, but I'm sure we will regret passing on Arthur Brown.

I don't even know what to say about Marquise Goodwin. He had a total of 340 yards and 3 touchdowns his ENTIRE senior year. We passed up Quinton Patton, who had 1,392 yards and 13 touchdowns. We already had a speed guy. This sucks.

Favorite pick yet from the Bills;

TJ Graham is slow compared to Goodwin.

LOL!

Anything and everything that has to do with being a polished WR (route running, vision, coverage awareness, cuts, breaks, and blocking) is lacking.

Guys, forget about TJ.

if he develops that's fine, but you can't put all your eggs in one basket, injuries happen, players fail to develop etc. you need options and we only had two WRs on this roster.

Bills definitely taking huge risks in their picks. I guess Buddy is saying, "Playing timid had gotten us nowhere..."

LOL!

I mean he has a LONG way to go but I like him a lot more than Graham.

Goodwin's leaping ability can't be understated. Olympic long jumper, didn't test well in the vertical though.

Goodwin is the kind of pick I will really like if the coaches can use him properly.

However, these WR picks really piss me off. They represent exactly how Buffalo has been drafting under Nix. You trade up to take TJ Graham one year, then the next year you're already replacing him with early round picks. They treat the draft like it's trial and error, and most of it is the latter.

Boom bust draft continues.

buddy has massive balls, or is in I don't give a **** mode

Well we already know he doesn't have massive balls from his previous drafts so it must be the other. He must be thinking since it's his last one he might as well try and go out on fire and hope to land one decent skill position player unlike his previous drafts have done outside of Spiller and maybe Gilmore which has yet to be seen.

Bills mentality is clear they've gone straight "Ah **** it" mentality.

Every pick is high risk, high reward.

Manuel with his size, athleticism, and arm if he pans out is going to be a good one.
Woods if he can get separation in the NFL he will be really good
Alonso if he gets stronger and learns to use his hands better he can stick
Goodwin with that much speed and athleticism please god let him learn how to run a route

For a guy with as much speed as he has, his elusiveness is severely lacking. Very little side to side movement. Unless he outruns someone...well, that's about it. Night and day between him and Tavon Austin.

I'd feel a little better about him being raw, but he played 4 years at Texas.

Well, we'll see what Marrone can do with him.

Pretty unimpressive from the GMs. Again teams such as Green Bay, Pittsburgh, the NY Giants prove why they are solid franchises.

Keep in mind he's a sprinter and he's never really truly focused just on football. His athleticism will loosen up his hips when he stops trying to be a sprinter coming off the line of every snap. He takes it down half a gear his COD will be night and day in my opinion.

I didn't like the TJ pick last yr either. Like I said, it's very risky. If he pans out, people will drool at this guy's speed, but that IF is awfully large.

Drafting players just because they are fast is stupid. Guys like Goodwin are the type you bring in as an UDFA.

This is exactly why Nix fails to find anything worth a crap after the 2nd round.

Honestly, he seems to put a lot of thought into the first 30-40 picks. He considers BPA and need, and seems to make fairly intelligent decisions - even when forced to go against the grain. With the second pick, he simply grabs whoever dropped to him at a need position.

After that, it's a freakin' free-for-all.

I mean I really dont mean to pick on you cause this isn't meant just at you, but 32 Teams who have perfected their craft at scouting have passed on this guy over and over again. If Ryan Swope is as good as you think he is, then why is he still on the board? You are falling for the media love for players and not actually seeing a player for what he is.

If someone can have a strong POSITIVE opinion without being an NFL scout, then it's fair that someone can express a strong NEGATIVE opinion under the same credentials.

You don't have to be employed by an NFL franchise to know what you are talking about. There are a lot of Bills fans on this board that have a GREAT eye for talent. I've seen their mock drafts and prospect rankings and trust me, these guys would have done a much better job than Nix over the last 3 years.
