View Full Version : I'm In Love With This Draft

A MAN of a QB, 2 wide receivers, and a linebacker who knows how to party AND play football.

Holy crap. I think Buddy and Co. just nailed their first 4 picks.

The team's focus on offense is quite comforting...tells me that Marrone knows what wins in the NFL.

"The best defense is a good offense."

I couldn't be happier...if they draft a TE in the 4th round, I'm going to fall off my rocker!

What's going on here? Looks like the Bills have finally figured it out.

Your definitely going to see the bills draft a safety early tomorrow because of the solid talent still out there. Baccari Rambo, shamarko Thomas (marrones guy), ect.. Probably another receiver also. Goodwin is a piece for the read option (in the backfield with spiller or motions, and bubble screens) or used as a situational player not a true receiver at the NFL level. Also before this draft is over there will be one offensive lineman taken.

I hate this draft (with the exception of Robert Woods).

As usual, the Bills have had good prospects at need positions fall in their laps - only to see Nix snatch up inferior prospects.

We've spent the last 3 years complaining about guys like Rob Gronkowski, Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson - passed over for the likes of Torrell Troup, Aaron Williams and TJ Graham. I have a feeling that guys like Geno Smith, Arthur Brown, Quinton Patton, Jordan Reed, etc. will be additions to this list soon.

We might actually be able to score this season, CJ lining up with Goodwin in a 5 WR set on opposite sides of the field will probably create gastric issues for our opponent's coaches.

I don't have good feelings at all about it. I was fine with Manuel though I think they could have traded down again with SF and still got him or taken him at 41 along with Jarvis Jones at 16, but Manuel is the dice toll I wanted to see. And I was fine with Woods and Alonso.....until Goodwin, when I realized we added another Steve Johnson and TJ Graham to replace guys we already have unless we want pairs of them. Woods had issues with his hands, which is like Donald Jones if not so fast, Goodwin is wee and raw, like Graham was/is. They still look like swiss cheese to me if thicker where there are not holes. I remember the early 2000's. they're gonna weep about that offensive line when people start getting hurt, and they always do, unless they are amazingly astute in the later rounds. I don't know. I like Manuel and Alonso anyway.

You had a tap on the phone?? You knew they would of traded down with SF for sure??

Damn you guys are all great. You should all work for the NFL somewhere

We got a good passing combo and a very good predator. Everyone we passed on so did a bunch of other teams, the players we got arguably any team at any time coulda picked. Alonso was a 3rd round pick who shoulda been a second without weight and character concerns. But honestly just 7 pounds and hes good. The combo will work. Quick strike offence in a spread with no huddle. You got a 2 deep threats, 2 pure WRs, and a big strong armed mobile QB. Each are also RAC specialists

Why didn't you post this response to the person who started this thread?

A person "loves" the draft and you say nothing.
A person hates it, and they get mocked.

You should all work for the NFL somewhere Well we had 16, they traded up to 18, you don't really think they'd have not been calling ? In between was Pittsburgh not wanting a DB SF wanted. This sort of doesn't need any clever insider knowledge. Just sort of takes a second to pay attention. You're talking about a two pick range here not 5 or 10. It's just silly.

We're all sorry your mock draft just missed.

Meanwhile, EJ Manuel remains a beast.

Bills Fans who aren't psyched must just be suffering from the years of emotional abuse, or consumed too much draft media.

Geno was a crybaby ***** and I knew it. Glad we passed on that train wreck however we missed out on the best opportunity in this draft by not taking Mike Glennon who has by far the biggest arm and most NFL potential out of everyone in this Draft.

Cali512

Glennon woulda been the worst pick in this draft. Bray woulda been way better. When TJ was in college he had Glennon. The year we drafted TJ i remember alot of people including me, were stunned how bad his QB was and used that as an excuse for why TJs production wasnt amazing. I mean when u watch the game tape on TJ, Glennon missed him for at least 5 more TDs in there years together. I gave TJ alot of credit for what he was able to do with such a pathetic QB, well a year later turns out hes a top QB in the draft some how lol. Its pretty hilarious if you ask me, and i watched the videos onhim, hes nothing special. Whoever drafted him hurt there team

Yeah really, I learned my lesson years ago about getting excited over draft picks. I still don't understand how some fans buy the hype EVERY year because many of these draftees don't make it or live up to their expectations.

If you're looking to prove your wisdom, than yes - withholding judgement is the right reaction.

But, if you're a fan looking to get psyched - we have a QB that looks pretty bad-ass - making the kool-aid quite refreshing this go-around. :wine:

Mike Mayock loves our draft so far. He's pretty much universally respected as a draft guy and talent evaluator. He picked us out of all 32 teams as having a great draft the last hour on NFL Network.

But, carry on. Some of you guys are infinitely more qualified.

Unfortunately whatever Mayock thinks doesn't mean that it will manifest on the field.

Unfortunately whatever Mayock thinks doesn't mean that it will manifest on the field.

This logic also holds true for me, you, and any other media figure.

Grading a draft after it has just finished is silly. Some say waiting 3 years is the best time, but that seems too long... I think a lot of information can be gleaned after year 1, and definitely after year 2.

I like the philosophy behind our draft, and our grade will mostly be tied to the EJ Manuel pick.

Great draft. Addressed almost every need save LG (and there are still options like Brandon Moore of an existing player on the roster) during the draft and afterwards signing UDFA's. The WR corps should be incredible in a year or so with SJ, Woods, Rogers, Goodwin, and Kaufman, to go with hopefully Gragg. Alonso sounds like a kid who has gotten this stuff together and is a baller. Williams sounds like a versatile guy who can play CB and cover TE's. They needed a kicker and got the best one, who can also kickoff. Not a huge fan of the Meeks pick, but I'll wait and see, and not every pick hits.

We have multiple shots at homerun picks, we swung for the fences. If you want to win a Superbowl, you need to take a big swing at it. Playing to tie (Jauron) was playing to lose because a tie just gives your opponents another chance to win.
