    Slow signing pace doesn't bode well for rookies

    Carson Palmer is it.

    He's the only player taken in the first round of the 2003 draft with a contract. That's why with training camps opening next week, and all teams in camp by the end of the month, there is growing concern around the league about the slow signing process.

    Although some team executives say they feel their deals will get done -- some even say they are close -- others say they're a little concerned. The rookie pools for the teams are again flat, which means it will be tough to get increases over the money players received in the same draft slot last year.
