TAMPA - Beleaguered Bucs running back Michael Pittman scored one victory in an Arizona courtroom and another just outside of it Thursday.
After being told Pittman can accompany the Bucs to Japan for an Aug. 2 exhibition game, Pittman's attorney said prosecutors told him they are not opposed to delaying a probation revocation hearing that could result in Pittman being thrown in jail before the start of the NFL season.
The hearing, set for July 21, is to determine whether Pittman violated terms of a three-year probation he was serving when he had an argument with his wife outside their Tempe, Ariz., home May 31.
During that incident, Tempe police allege Pittman rammed his Hummer H2 into his wife's Mercedes-Benz while Pittman's wife Melissa, their 2-year-old son Mycah and a babysitter were inside it
