VANCOUVER -- Consecutive early exits from the Stanley Cup Playoffs cost Alain Vigneault his job as coach of the Vancouver Canucks. After the Canucks came up one win short of their first Stanley Cup in 2011, president and general manager Mike Gillis cited first-round exits in the past two seasons, including a sweep by the San Jose Sharks two weeks ago, for the decision to fire Vigneault and assistant coaches Rick Bowness and Newell Brown on Wednesday. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads

Re: Thanks alot Darcy!
The Sabres could have had him! he would have been a perfect coach and a perfect fit for this team and there would no rebuilding. but we have an incopitent GM that waits until the trade deadline to make trades but makes fast hires for head coaches by hiring Rolston THANKS ALOT DARCY YOU SHOUD BE FIRED!Last edited by DetDannyWilliams; 05-22-2013, 10:35 PM.

Re: Thanks alot Darcy!
darcy traded our dead weight to vancouver and vigneult wasn't able to get those guys to perform any better. i don't necessarily want that lindy ruff type coach either.
i would rather be a 11 win hockey team with new GM and new coach with an attitude to leave it all on the ice.
i have no idea how buffalo sports has just gotten synomous with "bore you to death". i remember as a kid being interested in the SABRES game regardless of who they were doing. Now i'd prefer to watch other hockey games when the sabres suck because i just want to see two teams who kind of care to be there and have a mild desire to win the game.

I also remember watching the Sabres without Perreault, Martin, and either Desjardins or Don Edwards winning games. The Canucks would just be a bad team.
