This was supposed to be the Falcons’ year to break out. Michael Vick was supposed to be take his bumps and bruises, learning how to win in the NFL on the job. That was the plan.
And much like Vikings defenders, he left all expectations – not to mention adjectives – in his wake.
Quarterbacks aren’t supposed to rush for 173 yards in a single game. And certainly, no one bothered to tell Vick and the Falcons that they weren’t supposed to win in Lambeau Field in the playoffs. The fact that a 22-year-old quarterback was able to do what no other visiting quarterback has been able to do -- go into Green Bay in the postseason and win -- says all you need to know....
