The Buffalo Sabres are serious about trading up to get the number one pick in this years draft according to Sabres Director of Amateur Scouting Kevin Devine and they just might have the right man to get the deal done. You see Patrick Roy's son Frederick plays for the Rochester Americans which is owned by Terry Pegula and he is also the owner of the Buffalo Sabres. I'm shure that Patrick Roy would love to coach his son again! now just Roy won't get a deal done and the Avalanche don't want Ryan Miller or Thomas Vanek they want young players. So the Sabres could package their 8th along with Roy and maybe say Adam, Ennis or even Grigorenko whom Roy coached in Quebec and the Sabres even sent him back to the Remparts last season, and if the Avalanche wanted a goalie the Sabres could throw in Enroth. The Sabres traded Pominville to Minnesota last season at the trade deadline for Hackett and Larsson in return along with Minnesota's 16th overall pick. Hackett is ready to become a starting goalie in the NHL and the Sabres have other young goalies waiting their turn they got Lieuwen who was backup to David Leggio down in Rochester last season the Sabres also have Ullmark, Makarov, Knapp and they might take Zack Fucale at #16 as he is the No 1 goaltender in the draft this year.

Joe Sakic would never let that happen. You don't pass up good talent for a deal that includes an undrafted player regardless of who he is.
