I am going to be in Toronto for the Black Sabbath reunion concert on August 14th. I've extended my stay to include a night in Buffalo for the exhibition game on the 16th. My son also (who is coming with me) mentioned he would like to try a real Buffalo wing so I was planning on going to the Anchor Bar anyway so this is a perfect fit.

Are home exhibition games worth the trip? I know it's only the second one of the season, but I can't be that close to B-lo and not take in a game.

Thoughts?

And where is a good place to stay?

Hampton Inn downtown. It's pretty nice for a standard hotel.

When I had season tickets, I always went to preseason games. Well the tickets were paid for anyway, although extra cost is involved. I enjoyed those games anyway. You get to see the new players on both the Bills & the team they are playing.

NICE weather for tailgating & this year with the QB battle & the new defense as well, I can't wait for preseason.

I would suggest you get tickets from someone that has GOOD season tickets.

I believe the Vikings game(second game) is the kids day game which is the only one I go to. Fun for the kids. Activities outside for the kids along with getting to meet and take pics with the mascot and cheerleaders

The last pre-season game I went to was in 2007. Before that, I had seasons for 5 years and went to pre-season games that I could not give the tickets away for.

I would say that pre-season games are not worth traveling to.

However, if you are going to combine it with some good Buffalo eating, it may be worth it.

If you're going to Anchor Bar just because the buff wings started there that's fine, but if it's for good wings, maybe someone can point you in the right direction. I really wasn't impressed with the Anchor bar.

just my 2 cents

When you are 3500 KMs away any Bills game is a good game.

Since we haven't lost any regular season games that early in the season, I suggest the Bills box office:

Many people with season tickets have GOOD SEATS. For a preseason game, I would think seats could be had at face value or below. If he can not find tickets on this board, I would suggest the main board or ticketmaster before the Bills box office.

or StubHub or 1800bestseats or Craig's List.

No reason to pay face for pre-season. Many season ticket holders don't go to the preseason games and will be happy to take whatever they can get for the tix.

Absolutely correct OP. I would unload mine for small price if I don't end up going to that game

I got a pair of great seats for about 30 bucks a 2 years ago when my son wanted to go. Through stub hub. They can mail them to you or you can pick them up on game day. I picked mine up at a local hotel where stub hub people were working on game day morning. Might even have been less than 30 for the pair.
