Why would EPSN show hockey playoff highlights when there is an April regular season Yankees-Red Sox series to occupy 40 minutes of a 1 hour Sportscenter?

Do you find that the coverage in the US is starting to increase? Not that it is any way good but getting better. It seems that way from here but I wanted to find out for sure.

Well there is NHLN and NBC Sports Network does some hockey stuff, so there are more outlets. As far as ESPN, apparently they are still bitter that they lost the contract after the last lockout because hockey remains an afterthought to them.

The better question is when will ESPN let Melrose out of his summer cage?

Do they steal any of the TSN stuff or do they just ignore it all together?

I've never seen them use any TSN stuff.

Funny, 'cause ESPN owns 20% of TSN.

Yeah and TSN has good hockey coverage. I use their trade deadline and FA tracker every year. You'd think ESPN would find a way to leverage that somehow, but they'd spend half their time on Lebron James and the other half on Red Sox/Yankees.

sorry to bump this, but the real sad thing is ESPN still has gary thornes contract. id imagine if it expires, he could go to NBCsports. that would be great for them.

i find the fact that they talk about the NFL in early spring even more repulsive. ESPN also reporting tweets from/to athletes is also getting obnoxious.
