Re: Bills cut TE Mickey Schuler
[QUOTE=GingerP;3820677]I read they moved him to fullback. Isn't a good sign for his outlook as a TE.[/QUOTE
OTA/camp with him as an H-back is an experiment, no more than that. With the drafting of Eifert, they have a logjam at the TE spot. Starting FB Chris Pressely (very good blocker) went out in game 14 last season with a knee, and his recovery remains to be seen.
Charles should have gotten more playing time last season. But their so-called WCO guru OC Jay Gruden kept steady with TE Gresham. See Gresham's (as well as Gruden's playcalling) performance in last season's WC game against HOU. I couldn't believe it when Gruden was shopped around as HC material.
And he's mishandling Dalton. IMO.
During 2011, he and the staff thought he was too quick to run and too quick to throw the ball away if there was pressure. They told him to stay in the pocket and hold onto the ball. Of course his sacks went up and he suddenly looks like a guy with no pocket presence.
Then in 2012, they tried to boost the offense by simplifying, which they did by having Dalton basically quit making post snap reads. He was supposed to just run the play called come hell or high water, so of course he was locking on to one guy and missing others. And getting more sacks.
My personal feeling is that Gresham gets shown the door when his contract expires, and CIN is currently fiddling around to find a way to have a roster spot for Charles.Last edited by stuckincincy; 07-27-2013, 12:44 PM.Fiat justitia ruat caelum. Noli timere. Laus Deo.
