Pro Bowl Changes (No More AFC v NFC)

NFL eliminated traditional AFC-NFC Pro Bowl matchup; will be replaced with Pro-Bowl fantasy-like draft, per ESPN sources.

Now players will be assigned to teams through the Pro Bowl Draft (really). Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders will be draft captains.

No more kickoffs in Pro Bowl. Rosters will consist of 43 players per squad. Game will be played Jan 26 in Honolulu.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

It's a good idea, one I liked when the NHL went to it a ways back. I always thought they should have a charity competition and the two winning teams got to pick the rosters.

Awesome! But why those 2 guys drafting? What about coaches? Cheerleaders?

I wish they'd just do away with all star games in all the major sports. They are terrible to watch. Name the players still but don't bother having the games.

There was a time.........................a LONG time ago when the Pro Bowl had meaning & was an EXCITING game.

This was when there was an AFL & an NFL. IMO it was a bad move to do away with the AFL. Both the Pro Bowl & Super Bowl would have much more meaning if the two leagues still existed like the NL & AL in baseball.

At least the MLB one has some meaning behind it.

They should go back to the college all stars playing an NFL squad.

At least people would be interested in watching then.

At this point with no seperation between the NFC & AFC, I agree with you. This would be the best All Star game possible.

Gay porn has more going for it than the Pro Bowl.

I don't think these new guidelines are going to make it exciting in any way. 75 to 62...that's my prediction for this year's score.

Well, I hope you are referring to lesbian porn, if that is the case, I am with you. Les porn has a lot more going for it than the Pro bowl.

Ball is going to change hands after each quarter.

Are they going to play two-hand-touch or flag?
