Bills add another Syracuse product in tight end Nick Provo

Provo, 24, participated in the Bills' voluntary minicamp in April on a tryout basis. The 6-foot-4, 249-pounder set a Syracuse school record for career catches by a tight end, with 92. His 1,027 receiving yards were the second most in school history for a tight end. To make room on the roster for Provo, the team released offensive lineman Hutch Eckerson. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-c...60DA40D124DB1D

          Released Hutch Eckerson? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I believe I had Provo on my draft list as a 7th rounder. 1 round after I had Gragg. I like it.

Here's the draft write up on him.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
              It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Provo was really productive as a receiver for SU. Maybe I'm biased because I live a few blocks from campus, but I thought he would have caught on in the NFL by now.

I believe that would be called an over-priced cheese sandwich.
