For the 2013-14 season, the season ticket holder base will be capped at 16,000. This is the third straight season the number of season ticket holders has increased. The Sabres also have a season ticket holder waiting list. There are currently 2,500 names on the waiting list."We again wanted to continue to try and reach the demand that exists for Sabres season tickets," said team president
Ted Black in a statement released Thursday morning. "There have been thousands of very loyal and very patient fans in our Blue & Gold Club that have been waiting for years to be eligible to purchase season tickets. We wanted to reward that loyalty by continuing to transition people from that waiting list to our ever-growing base of season-ticket holders. Our fans remain among the most dedicated in the league and we continue to be appreciative of their support." http://www.wgrz.com/sports/pro_hockey/NHL/sabres/article/223183/140/Despite-Limited-Success-Sabres-Fans-Remain-Loyal- (http://www.wgrz.com/sports/pro_hockey/NHL/sabres/article/223183/140/Despite-Limited-Success-Sabres-Fans-Remain-Loyal)

Couched in a triumphant e-mail sent out by the team this morning is the fact the Buffalo Sabres have had a small drop in season ticket renewals for the 2013-14 season.
But the team still has plenty of right to thump its chest on this topic in the face of its struggles on the ice. The Sabres' rate of keeping customers or bringing a few new ones on continues to be remarkable, even with the 4 percent price hike that was clumsily unveiled on the afternoon of Fan Appreciation Night. I don't subscribe to the theory of don't show and the team will react by improving the product. See how that has gone with the Panthers. Bad attendance, bad teams, same **** different year. Bottom line: It's all up to the owner. Fans have no power when it comes to influencing decisions on the ice. If an owner is committed to winning, smart and exceedingly wealthy he'll get there, fans be damned.

Pegula is Pegula, and his yes-men will continue to **** in the stew whether fans patronize or not. I can't blame fans for attending, NHL hockey is still a great night out compared to dinner and a ****ty movie, and even mediocre teams win half the time at home. The part that infuriates me are the dumb-ass apologist fans who wouldn't criticize the organization if Pegula ass raped their kids. I can't stand being around them.

Cheers to those who boo.
