The Bills signing of Jairus Byrd to his franchise tender apparently did not contain any extra language concerning future use of the franchise tag.
NFL.com’s Albert Breer is reporting that there were no extra provisions in Byrd’s franchise contract indicating that language stipulating that the Bills cannot use the franchise tag on him in the future is not included in the pact.
So if for some reason the Bills and Byrd are unable to reach a long term agreement at the end of the regular season, Buffalo would be able to tag Byrd again if they chose to do so.
