All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Williams. It's not even close. By most accounts, Searcy hasn't looked good.

I would be totally surprised if anyone picks Searcy over Williams.

Not only has Searcy looked bad, but Williams has looked GOOD.

It's not just based on the pre-season games. Williams has been the better player in practice as well.

I think he's the better overall player and the prototypical type of safety that Pettine really wants, which is why they moved him in the first place. I've heard nothing but good things about his play in training camp and has looked good in the games. He's listed as the starter on the depth chart and has taken the most reps with the 1's out of all the safeties. I haven't gotten any indications from anything I've seen or heard that Searcy has done anything to take the job from him.

There was some talk earlier in the off-season about Pettine wanting/liking to use three safeties in certain packages, so I think we could see Byrd, A. Williams, and Searcy on the field at the same time for certain plays.

If you think Searcy should be the starter, discuss why.
