What Is The Bills Biggest Weakness?

Before the draft and training camp, the Bills had a lot of holes to fill.

    Many holes have been filled.

The wide receiving corps went from a weed infested lawn to a fast golf course.
    (Johnson, Woods, Graham, Goodwin)

The coaching staff and management went from a Studebaker to a Porsche.
    (Marrone, Pettine, Whaley)

The linebackers went from tuna to prime rib.
    (Blatnick, Hughes, Alonso, Lawson)

The quarterback position went from pizza made in Florida to wings made in Buffalo.
    (EJ)

But the Bills still have big weaknesses.

Lack of experience not counting, is the left guard position the Bills, "biggest," weakness?

Can the Bills possibly snatch up a left guard via a salary cap cut?

What about RT? Hairston has missed all of training camp on the PUP. Is Erik Pears as good of a run blocker as Hairston? No way.

Is the 2nd CB position the Bills biggest weakness? Will Leodis McKelvin's career see a turnaround with Donnie Henderson as his DB coach?

If Gilmore turns into a shutdown, "blanket," CB and Byrd returns to form at S, they will make the entire secondary better.

    So what is it?

    Left guard?

    Right tackle?

    2nd CB?

    Other?

How in the hell did a rookie, a UDFA, and a FA make our LB's go from tuna to prime rib?

QB, WR and LB are holes until the guys they signed prove otherwise.

I'd say right now, LB and CB are the biggest holes. G could possibly be added to that list.

I'm not convinced QB is filled, but we spent a first round pick on EJ so he's gonna get 3 seasons to prove himself- it's not something that's going to be addressed in the next year or so.

Did you watch the first two preseason games?

Proof is in the pudding. Did you see the defense play like that last year?

          Nope.

            Preseason is MEANINGLESS football.

Our biggest weakness is the regular season.

Take your typical negative Buffalo response and shove it down your own pie hole.

"This is a piss poor football team overall."

I'm SO SICK of the negative Buffalo mentality. Can't anyone think positive around this town?

Just because practically everyone in Erie County works for the government and gets a paycheck courtesy of people who actually produce things doesn't mean our football team sucks as much as your job and your lie of a life.

Bunch of negative nelly wankers...that's what this town has turned into because so many are looking for a #$#%ing government handout and like the easy way out called average.

Face it, you'd rather be average than great. Because you can't identify with greatness.

All you know is average...and that's why you suck.

                Move to Detroit.

Re: What Is The Bills Biggest Weakness?

WR is still unproven, but they have invested in young guys so we will see how they develop. I wouldn't call it a strength, but there is potential.

TE is abysmal, a giant hole they will have to address after the season.

The OL is average at best, IMO. Spiller makes them look better than they really are in the run game, but outside of Wood and Glenn there is nothing special about any of them. They need to re-sign Wood, and Glenn might ultimately be a OG.

RB is set, but I'd like to see them be pro-active and extend Spiller. He is their most dynamic talent, and they need to stop waiting for guys to get to FA and then going through the crap they have with Levitre & Byrd.

QB is going to be all about how quickly Manuel can develop. He has been promising, but he is a young QB and there will be growing pains. Tuel can develop into a long-term backup, and they should just cut Kolb.

DL is the key to the defense. They have a lot invested in the front and they need those guys to bring pressure. If not, the Bills will be in trouble. Last year they were a huge disappointment.

Alonzo is a nice, young piece to start with at LB, but they need LB badly other than that. Their LB corps overall is below average.

Gilmore & Byrd are both top players, but the rest of the secondary is a problem. Teams are going to stay away from those 2 and attack the rest of the secondary with success. The Bills could really use another CB.

ST's look OK, although the new K is a complete unknown.

Overall, this isn't a great team. They have some young guys that might be able to develop into something, but they are a long way from being competitive. Hopefully, Marrone & his staff can develop some players.

If this team was average, that would be an improvement.

Re: What Is The Bills Biggest Weakness?

Yes, let's close our eyes and pretend everything is going to be all peachy when this team hasn't made the playoffs since before y2k.

People have lost hope because we've seen countless regime changes with no positive results in forever. Plenty of people have had blind optimism for the past 13 season that have resulted in disappointment every single time... but hey, keep closing your eyes and wishing, just maybe this time it'll be different! Just don't **** on anybody else who isn't buying it given this team's track record.

Literally every "improvement" you listed are complete unknowns. You can't plug in rookies at every position (and even the coach in this case) and expect everything to improve by default.

                          QB.

It's the only position that really matters, and although I like the EJ pick, it's silly to think it's not a weakness until he develops.
