Which WR's will make the team?

Obviously, the top 4 WR's are locks (Stevie, Woods, TJ and Goodwin). That leaves several guys competing for 2, or maybe 3 spots. Most likely 2. I know Marrone wants guys who can play special teams. So that being said, which other WR's will make the team, out of:

Smith, Brad
Easley, Marcus
Hogan, Chris
Rogers, Da'Rick
Dickerson, Dorin
Sampson, DeMarco
Kaufman, Brandon

I'm guessing it'll be Smith and Easley, based on their special teams abilities, but I'd rather we keep Hogan and Rogers. I feel like, if we cut Rodgers, he'll be a Patriot or a Jet immediately. The Jets just signed Massaquoi today, who couldn't even make the Jaguars roster, so they are desperate for WR help. And the Patriots need WR's too (and we all know they love to sign WR's who get cut by division rivals). With Rogers' talent, I think he's worth keeping around. It's not like Easley won't be on IR by week 3 anyways.

I'd say keep hogan and Easley . Rogers hasn't shown crap yet so release and hope you can ps him

That'll leave Easley and Rogers out, both whom they'll try and practice squad, but Rogers will get picked up I would bet.

6 seems the norm these days. You're right regarding Rogers - somebody will, but so far, just as a ps squad filler IMO. The book on him could be true, and BUF knows it.

Rogers will not make it.

Smith might make it over Hogan and/or Easely. For how young the team is, I'd be really surprised if either of B Smith or B Scott were cut.

Well the thing with taking players from a teams practice squad is that you have to place him on your 53 man roster if you're going to do that. So say the Chiefs for example, want Rogers from us, and pluck him, they'd have to put him on their active 53 man roster, and can't just stash him on their practice squad.

That being said, I still think a team thin at WR, or deep at WR will do it, the latter because they can't make him inactive each week and develop him.

I would not have though Easley would have looked this good. And IMO, Kaufmann has stood out so I'm going with those two.

Yep - that's how it works. But a team that wants to keep a player on their PS has some options. There's no maximum to a PS contract. You can sign a PS player for a million bucks, if you like. A club that wants him has to match, and the club that owns the rights can up that.

I originally bought into the argument they wouldn't be able to practice squad Rogers if they cut him but don't believe that now. He hasn't done much of anything. Why would someone carry him on their active roster? Every team passed on even using a 7th round pick on him but they are gonna pick him up off waivers and put him on their roster? I don't think so. Cut him and PS him. If some team picks him up so be it.

SJ, Woods, TJ, Goodwin, Hogan, Easley. Smith may make it over Easley because of leadership. I hope not!

Are you sure about that? I've never heard that before. Doesn't seem right. Do you have a link? I'm hoping Rogers gets a minor injury the next couple weeks that allows them to IR him
