ESPN- Buffalo Bills on the bubble:Defence

The Buffalo Bills are set to play their third preseason game on Saturday against the Washington Redskins, which might be the last, limited opportunity for players on the roster bubble to make an impression.

On Thursday, three offensive players on the bubble were highlighted. Today, we'll take a look at three defensive players:

    Torell Troup
A second-round pick of the Bills in 2010, Troup was selected by the previous regime in Buffalo. He has battled injuries since entering the NFL, playing in just six games in 2011 before missing all of last season. This preseason was likely his final shot in Buffalo, and he has disappointed. At 6-foot-3, 327 pounds, Troup is a big body, but the Bills brought in another hefty defensive lineman in Alan Branch this offseason. Now 26, Troup might have to come on strong in the final two preseason games to stick.

    Chris White
The Bills got a long look at White in last Friday's win against the Minnesota Vikings. He played a team-high 35 defensive snaps and 15 special teams snaps, but would project to have a role mostly on special teams if he cracks the 53-man roster. Last season, White led the Bills by playing in 77 percent of special teams snaps. The Bills have a glut of linebackers -- Arthur Moats, Bryan Scott, and Marcus Dowtin among them -- vying for spots, but White looks to be the strongest special teams player of the bunch.

    Nickell Robey
The Bills have been high on Robey, a undrafted rookie from USC. He's the smallest player on the Bills' roster, but looks to have the versatility to play both inside (in the slot) and outside at cornerback. Robey had a chance to start last Friday and struggled, penalized twice. The Bills have been hit with a rash of injuries at cornerback, and Robey could stick just as insurance. In the long-term, though, he will need to battle Justin Rogers and Crezdon Butler for playing time on defense

Thought this was a good read so i threw it out there.

I wouldn't cry if any or all three of those guys were cut. I also wouldn't be shocked if any of them made the team. Robey would be a great PS candidate if he doesn't make the final 53. White has looked good on special teams but somewhat slow playing LB. Troup was a waste of a pick thus far and unless the Bills know something we don't can be gone.

I think they are on the downslope of that bubble.

Doesn't it seem like we've always had a glut of ST aces who could make plays on that unit but couldn't play their assigned position worth a darn ?

In America we play defense. Defence is what separates your yard from the Italian neighbor's.

Terrell Troup is definitely a goner unless he really impressed the coaches and showed some major skills this training camp. He hasn't done anything in this league and these guys didn't draft him. The signing of Alan Branch surely sealed his fate. I doubt that would've mattered anyway.

Chalk him up as another failed draft pick in the past decade. There's a huge club for him to hang out with. We didn't need a pass catching TE like Gronkowski at that time though.
