Rapoport has been told that Manuel is still on track to start Week 1, meaning Tuel's star moment may not ever actually arrive. Still, the Bills don't sound like a team that believes all is lost if Tuel takes the field.

It was on NFL Total Access tonight...step away from the cliff everyone. EJ will be under center in Week 1.

I was kinda hoping Tuel started in Week 1 so he could make some history as the first UDFA rookie to start on Opening Day. It would be pretty fitting for it to happen with the Bills during this era.

ej will start, and it will be one hell of a show! not this much anticipation and nervousness since 86 and 02

He better be ready to put up 42 or more week one. Our defense is gonna suck.

Marrone said that Tuel is the starter until EJ is ready, EJ was already doing some work on the practice field yesterday. He'll probably need to be practicing near full by the beginning of next week. I can't see him not being ready in 13 days.

Marone will wait till the last possible second to announce the starter and make the Pats study a bunch of Washington State and FSU tape in the mean time.

I want EJ to start however it makes me nervous. He's a rookie that everyone is looking to be the franchise and he would be starting with less than a game of NFL experience. It seems like he is mature and can handle these situations, but i hope he isnt put into the fire too early with all these high expectations.

What did he have done? I had ACL reconstruction and my scar is only about an inch and a half.

EJ's starting don't worry about it.

Don't rush him back; just start Tuel. With Gilmore out, Brady's going to hang 40 on them anyway, so what's the point of taking a chance on his knee?

If they are still not 100% sure he can go a week from now, then he shouldn't be playing.

With the procedures today, it's most likely a 3/4" cut.

I was under the impression that EJ just had his knee drained. If that's the case then there shouldn't even be a cut. They just use a needle. It's the swelling he experienced that needs to go down and heal.

It has all been speculation about the knee & the procedure done. 3/4" incision at worst.

In any event, Marrone has said EJ is on the field moving around at this point.......................GOOD news.

I do like my porterhouse cut 3/4 of an inch. Maybe it's all the same

yes he does.

He doesn't. This game was never going to be won by our QB, it was going to turn on how well our D and Spiller can slow down Brady.

Do you honestly think he doesn't ? I'm sure he would of never made it to be a coach, let alone a great coach, if he didn't care what QB was playing for the opposition. Maybe you think that Belichick is just going to give the Pats that week off of practice, because they'll be facing EJ Manuel or Jeff Tuel, Belichick has been around long enough to know not to underestimate any player or any team.

Not a physician, a patient.

I know about the knee from the other side of the knife.

No, like everyone else, I don't know what was done on EJ's knee.

But having had surgery on my cartilage, ACL & MCL. I know the size of incisions made.

It is microsurgery & the size is VERY SMALL, about 3/4".

And if he just had the knee drained, it was just a needle as someone else said & I have had that done as well.

Wouldn't it have to be a pretty serious injury if not repaired arthroscopicly?

Yeah, same procedure different name. And I think even the most serious knee injuries are done arthoscopicly.

I had mine done back in the early 1990's I'm pretty sure the Dr. called it microsurgery, but they may have changed the name since then.
