Game isnt on here but his stat line is attrocious.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
      It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

        3/10 for 11 yards and 2 interceptions. I'd say that's pretty bad.

I didn't watch the "game" either, but it's fair to assume that he was terrible. They did put him in a hell of a spot, though.

        What'd Lewis do?

Leinart did throw two nice deep balls that Goodwin couldn't come down with but his picks were inexcusable.

Lewis threw one good ball all night and if he had any kind if accuracy he would have had a nice star line. He can run though and he proved he could run the read-option so I would say he made the roster.

Lewis did get better with the more reps he had so that's something to take away.

He did his job, serving as a 30 minute pinata to protect the starters. He'll be flying back to California this weekend.

I wonder how much Leinart made for 2 quarters of suckage in a meaningless pre season game?

              Couple hundred thousand?

and the right to probably never play again. i obviously don't know a ton about being a football player in the NFL, but regardless of a team's playbook, i'd think a 30yrold, former first rounder with 8 years experience would know enough to go 6-12 for 80 yards. his performance stands out even with the excuse of short practice time.

i also think that's what EJ might look like if he isn't practicing with the starters for a full week. so i think that's the issue marrone looks at when determining "should we start him"

but he has to be active for the first game of the season on the 53 man squad.

Apparently, Leinart has already been told he won't be on the team. He tweeted this:

@MattLeinartQB: Tough game. Tough situation. No excuses. Thanks you to the Bills organization! #FightOn

Im pretty sure he didn't need to be told. He almost publicly cut himself in the post game press conference. It was pretty obvious. Heck, even his Mom knew he was getting cut.

                        Re: Leinart, LOL

i said this yesterday before the game. Leinart had to show that he had high value because his knock is that he'll be expensive on the 53 man roster and the bills gave up something (albeit very little in chris white) to get thad lewis.

So to have that kind of game, carrying 3 qb's, he'd have to prove that he was the better option. oh, well, nice try. he's just one more qb to find out that if you can't make it in buffalo you can't make it anywhere.

He should sign up for the CFL and try to get some self-esteem back.
