How To Beat The Pats? Cornerbacks Are Overrated!

Even if the Bills had one of the best secondaries in the league, what good are they if the players up front can't get pressure on the quarterback?

Give a decent QB all day to throw and he will eventually pick a team's defense apart.

The Jets tried to beat Brady with Revis island. It didn't work. They didn't get enough pressure on Brady up front to interrupt their passing game.

When is the last time you saw Tom Brady take a hit like Jim Kelly took sometimes on a weekly basis? Brady is a lot like Dan Marino, he gets the ball off quick. But when you sack his ass, he cries like a *****. "Danny's gotta booboo, whaaaaa."

It's time to give Brady a booboo.

The Giants beat the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl. How'd they do it?

They got up in Brady's grille.

In 2011, the Giants passing defense ranked 29th in the league. 29th! They sucked! Overall they ranked 25th.

Even the Bills had a better passing defense than the Giants in 2011.

But the Giants still won the Super Bowl because they were able to get pressure on Brady.

In 2007, the Giants had a very good defensive backfield. They had the 11th ranked passing defense. Their secondary was composed of Gibril Wilson, Sam Madison, James Butler, Aaron Ross, Kevin Dockery, Michael Johnson, Corey Webster, and Craig Dahl.

Sam Madison and Gibril Wilson had 4 INT's each for the year. They were a good secondary, but nothing special.

The Giants beat the Pats in both Super Bowls by getting good pressure up front on Brady.

When the Patriots won their first Super Bowl in the 2001 season, their secondary ranked 24th in the NFL. 24th!

In 2003, the Pats secondary was ranked 15th. They won again.

In 2004, the Pats secondary was ranked 17th. They won again.

Average secondaries compared to good secondaries?

In 2007, the Pats secondary was ranked 6th. They lost.

In 2011, the Pats secondary was ranked 15th. They lost.

If it was that easy, the Pats would be 0-16 every year.

I hate to tell you this ... but the pressure is there because the coverage is there. Coverage always breaks down at some point. They need to cover long enough for the pressure to get to the QB. Brady will never even get pressured if the secondary is marginal I don't care how good the line is.....

Let's hit the quarterback a lot! It's genius! Why didn't anyone try that?

The Pats* have been winning because Brady & the Pats* offense has been able to score even more points than their opponents.

We will soon find out if they can keep that up with all the new Rookies replacing proven productive vets like Gronk, Hernandez & Welker.

Actually the Giants got to Brady a lot via coverage sacks.

You constantly say this while neglecting the past.

2001 Pats scoring offense 6th in the NFL Troy Brown had more catches than all other WRs combined.

2004 Pats scoring offense 4th in the NFL David Givens and David Patten were their leading WRs.

2006 Pats scoring offense 7th in the NFL Reche Caldwell was their leading WR.

2007 Pats were the most prolific offense we'll ever see with a then NOBODY Wes Welker and Career Over Randy Moss.

You keep going with this theory that Brady doesn't make the players around him better and they lost weapons so they must suck. Their scoring offense while Brady has been the QB has ALWAYS been top 10 in the NFL. Yet that's going to change?

That's not even mentioning the fact that last year while they were 1st in scoring, Gronk missed 5 games and Hernandez missed 6.

Hell the only player on the Pats offense, minus O-line, that started all 16 games last year was Tom Brady.

And all the while that was going on the Pats* were CHEATING.
