The Calgary Flames (http://flames.nhl.com/) on Monday announced goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff (http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8462147) has retired from the NHL. In 24 games last season, Kiprusoff, 36, went 8-14-2 with 3.44 goals-against average and .882 save percentage
Kiprusoff retires as the Flames' franchise leader in games played (576), wins (305) and shutouts (41). He was acquired from the San Jose Sharks (http://sharks.nhl.com/) in a trade Nov. 16, 2003, and that season led the Flames to the Stanley Cup Final. He went 15-11 with five shutouts, a 1.85 GAA and .928 save percentage in 26 playoff games
His best season was 2005-06, when he led the League with a 2.07 goals-against average and 10 shutouts, was second with 42 wins and third with a .923 save percentage. He capped his season by winning the Vezina Trophy as the League's top goaltender.http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=681843&navid=nhl:topheads

The Flames also now have Brian Burke in their organization he is the new president of hockey operations and he knows Ryan Miller very well being on team USA and Calagry needs a goalie so Miller might be traded soon.

They are rebuilding, they traded Iginla and Bouwmeester for 1st round picks. Think they will package up some of that for a older goalie? If you take back some garbage maybe but it doesn't fit with what they are trying to do. Would you trade Grigerenko or that finnish D man for an older goalie when the rest of your team is 25ish? Don't think you would.

Coming into the season the Florida Panthers (http://www.billszone.com/nhl/teams/page/FLA/florida-panthers) already have
one of the shakiest goalie tandems in the NHL with the still pretty unproven Jacob
Markstrom (http://www.billszone.com/nhl/players/playerpage/1770948/jacob-markstrom) and Scott Clemmensen (http://www.billszone.com/nhl/players/playerpage/274240/scott-clemmensen), who
is coming off a horrendous season. It has become even shakier.

Clemmensen underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee, Panthers GM Dale
Tallon said on Sunday. While the surgery will only keep him out for three weeks,
that cuts into training camp time and pushes his timeframe for a return right
around opening night. That's not ideal to say the least, no matter how
comfortable they might be with Markstrom. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/23562098/nhl-rumors-with-clemmensen-out-panthers-looking-for-goalie

i dont see this one happening either. markstrom is the real deal. hes going to be a superstar. florida is rebuilding, though they are further along then buffalo, they are not going to trade for a 33 year old starter with 1 year left on his contract.

And doesn't Miller have a no trade clause? Why would be leave Buffalo to go to another rebuilding team that's even further from his wife?

make up your mind,... one minute you saying he could go here, then you start another thread saying he could go there.

Merge all his "trade speculation" threads into one big thread...

Just because you have a thought doesn't mean you should post it.

GM Dale Tallon said last week that he was looking for a veteran goaltender. "There will be a lot of transactions during this training camp," Tallon told the South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/florida-panthers/fl-florida-panthers-rookies-0909-20130908,0,2711918.story?track=rss). "We're looking at every possibility, the waiver wire, trades, free agents, whatever we can do to improve.'' http://www.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2013-09-10/tim-thomas-panthers-rumors-islanders-bruins-flames

After sitting out the 2012-13 season, former Boston Bruins (http://bruins.nhl.com/) goalie and two-time Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas (http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8460703) reportedly has been offered a tryout by the Florida Panthers (http://panthers.nhl.com/). http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=682012&print=true

MAF continues to struggle mightily for the pens, and vokoun has a blood clot and may not play this year. adam proteau of the hockey news has a hunch that miller will be traded to pittsburg. just a hunch.

Keep Miller... have Hackett as Miller's backup trade Enroth. I've said it once and I'll say it again Enroth is not a starter never has! and never will be! he's a good backup that's all. Like Biron. He's been shaky in all preseason games he's started giving up three goals in the preseason opener and three last night to the Leafs two in regulation and one in the shoot-out. Another reason why the Sabres should trade him is his value is high right now so the Sabres would be able to get more if they traded him instead of Miller, also he's won a gold medal this year with Sweeden. Hackett is ready to play in the NHL he's been solid this preseason in games he's played in.

with all due respect, pinning the shootout against him is beyond stupid. 1 goal in 15 rounds? come on, dude.
