Re: E.J. Manuel's first game comparison

That tells me a couple things. First, Manuel's first game wasn't half bad. I figured that out myself, but it's nice to be confirmed by some stats. Second, a first game does not predict a career. Manuel beat Andrew Luck, but there's nobody who thinks that Andrew Luck isn't going to have a solid career. By the same token, Mark Sanchez ranks second on that list, and I'll there's not a single Bills fan on this message board who would like to se the Bills acquire Mark Sanchez.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

EJ's first game was better than expected and a good beginning.

Hopefully he can build on it.

Very good - no turnovers, which was reasonably expected. The youngster gets a plus for his first outing.

Re: E.J. Manuel's first game comparison

thats not bad considering this was supposedly a bad draft for qb's and that Ej should've been a 3rd pick.

Either the experts were wrong about him or Marrone and co. are doing a great job .

This is good though if we are being honest, he should have had 2 int. Both were flat out drops by the DBs. So looks good because they did drop it but I don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves.

Not really. Both would have been pretty good plays by the DB's. If you want to talk drops, it's the Bills WR's that had the drops so EJ's stats could have been better.

That is true we can what if to death but by the stats, it looks like he was almost perfect. Just pointing out that stats don't tell the whole story. The bomb I would have no problems with as it is pretty much a punt but the other one he hit the db in the chest right behind the receiver on the 15ish yard line. I'm not trying to slag on him as I thought he was better than anything we have in a long time but to say with the numbers he will be a QB as good as those others, is a little ambitious.

It's to show how he compares to other rookie QBs in their Week 1 starts. No assumptions or predictions were made of his future. You read way too much into it. It's just statistics. People can use the info how they like.
