Our OL is Killing Our Offense

It was expected despite homers telling us that this OL was above average.

The run blocking and pass protection is simply not good enough for a rookie QB.

That was the difference in the game yesterday -- the Jets OL v. the Bills OL.

Without a run game, EJ is going to look bad for most of this season.

Much more focus should have been spent in the off-season in improving this OL.

    It is too late now.

Our OL looked HORRIBLE. No one else looked good either but the line really didnt allow EJ any time, and no running lanes either.

Coaching gets more blame than OL. Hard to block when they send more rushers than blockers. The coaching staff failed to make adjustments such as roll outs, shot gun or 7-9 step drops instead of staying with 3-5 step drops.

I suspect this Syracuse group is way over their heads.

Re: Our OL is Killing Our Offense

Well, our front office justified letting our best offensive linemen go - because he supposedly "wasn't worth that money as a guard."

Now we have a massive hole on the left side. Our running game is ineffective. Our rookie QB can't go 3 plays without getting hit.

Maybe the Bills should start putting a value on WINNING, instead of assigning values to particular positions like guard and safety. Losing Levitre was incredibly damaging to this team, and will likely cost us several games before the year is up - if not costing us injuries to players we deemed more valuable.

They were fine against NE and Car. EJ barely took any hits and the running game was decent. They were bad yesterday but it's one game. Coaching also has to adjust when they bring more rushers than we have blockers. Brown is horrible though.

This ol wasn't assertive when Levitre and Rhinehart were here. Quick passes and 3 step drops were the smoke and mirrors that made people think we had a good line. There hasn't been an OL that could run the ball when everybody in the stadium knew it was coming for years. I don't understand it, we've had good size up front and good coaching (Joe D).
Marrone needs to have a come to Jesus meeting with this team. Need to scheme something, cuz "next man up" doesn't work when it's the 5 guy on the depth chart.

For the record, I agreed with the decision on Levitre. Rhinehart is the one that pissed me off. We could of gotten Vasquez from SD and went mauling OL.

The problem is now that the rest of the teams that play the Bills are going to blueprint what the Jets did. Your coaching staff needs to gameplan for it better.

The fault was not entirely on the OL. Fitz made the OL look better because of his quick decisions and EJ is making them look worse because of his indecisiveness.

The Bills are 5th in YPG with a pretty good yards per carry average.

The stats are inflated because of the 1 fluke run that Jackson had. Take that away, and the stats are worse.

                              That's not how averages work.

Also, as a guy that has watched FJax since he made the team, that wasn't a fluke. Freddy is magic, he breaks runs like that nearly every game.
