EJ Manuel Beat The Defending Super Bowl Champions. So What?

Big deal, he beat the Baltimore Ravens. So what?

When's the last time a rookie quarterback beat the defending Super Bowl Champions?

    Never.

"As The Media Sleeps,"...brought to you by, Wundabar Bologna.

It never happened before in pro football history and now the media is poo-pooing the Bills and EJ Manuel by ignoring something that should not be ignored.

That was a HUGE upset win but the Bills still didn't get the media coverage they deserved. The Bills dismantled the defending champs, but the post game coverage of that win on the NFL Network and ESPN was far less than adequate.

In a way, they acted as if IT didn't happen. I stayed up until 1:30 am flipping back and forth looking for something and only Chris Berman was able to sneak and speak what happened to the NFL's dismay.

NFL history unfolds in a major way, but the national media thinks Geno Smith's butt fumble is more noteworthy.

That was one of the biggest, most unexpected wins in Bills history. Nobody gave them a chance, me included.

EJ Manuel is special, but the NFL doesn't think so.

    No respect.

If you haven't gotten the message by now, we're inconsequential to ESPN and NFL Network and just about every other sports media outlet.

Fine with me. Go under the radar until they HAVE to take notice.

That said...we're still 2-2 and there are still problems with the team. Do not go into premature celebration mode just yet.
John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

Nope. Nor do we deserve respect. It's a lame stat too. More now than ever have rookie QBs been starting in the NFL.

The NFL.com headline was, 'Ravens Lose A Shocker'.

It helps if you have the facts right. The last time the defending SB champs lost to a rookie QB... was last year - to RG3. (http://www.pro-football-reference.co...1212030was.htm)

The record is in a rookie beating the SB champs in September, which is cool and all, but still.

Wow. Holy crap I need a beer.

WHY don't the Bills deserve respect? Do you think that win was a fluke?

The correct stat was a Super Bowl champ losing to a rookie QB in September.

and I would not say it is completely meaningless. It had never happened before. Sure more rookie QBs are starting in today's NFL. But this still goes back 45+ years

How many rookies have played the defending SB champs in September? And why are we only using September?

Lmao- we are coming off a 13 year playoff drought during which we only had one winning season. And we are 2-2: we've lost as many games as we've won. What about that makes you think this team deserves respect?

Going back 5 years the only ones I've seen are Manuel, Clausen vs. the Saints, and Newton vs. the Packers.

We won a game to make .500, lets not rub one out just yet.

We won... we should have won against the Patriots, and we'd all be singing a different tune if we were 3-1. But we're 2-2. I'm from Pittsburgh, and they're all looking for hockey season after 0-4. THAT is where we were SUPPOSED to be according to people, yet no one will give this team credit. I no longer care.

As much as people say the defense won the game, I don't think the Bills win that game with Fitz at QB.

2-2 is respectful. 0-4 is not.

All the media outlets are just talking about Flacco's interceptions like it was just a bad game. Our defense is for real and will be better once the secondary is healthy.
