All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Word is that Dallas' switch from an attacking 3-4 to a Tampa 2 has really screwed over Morris Claiborne - their Top 6 pick from 2012. So much so that they benched him over it. If Dallas is committing to this new scheme, maybe we can talk them into dealing Claiborne to us? We run a scheme not far removed from the one he was drafted for. I think this could be a good buy low opportunity.
Dallas hasn't been playing a lot of Tampa-2. They have been mixing it up more this year. Claiborne has struggled this year independent of scheme, although he has been playing through a shoulder injury.
One reason this would be difficulty is the cap. Dallas is tight up against the cap, with $1.673M in cap room. Trading Claiborne would save them about $797,150 in pro-rated salary for this year, but $5,175,069 in future bonus pro-ration would accelerate and hit their cap. They would have to accept Byrd's remaining tender on top of that. They have very little wiggle room left to make cap room, since they already restructured a bunch of contracts to deal with the penalty the league gave them that took away cap room.
In short, the cap makes this virtually impossible. Beyond that, they would be trading a guy they drafted in the first round after 1 season for a player they wouldn't control beyond this year. It makes no sense for them.
Yeah, just some message board make believe to pass the time. But it really makes sense for both teams.
It doesn't make sense for Dallas. They don't have the cap to make it happen, as they would absorb a big hit for Claiborne and then take on Byrd, and they would be giving up on a 1st round pick after one year for a guy they won't control beyond this season. Claiborne may be struggling, but the inability to sign Byrd to an extension kills his value.
We have a #1 CB and a solid #2 CB (when healthy) which appears to be the next game or the one after. Furthermore, Byrd is finally about to play.
So we should trade our top S (and DB for that matter) for the 6th overall player at that contract size to be our #3 CB or at best our #2 CB?
Claiborne's deal:
4 at 16.265 fully guaranteed.
Besides, Dallas gave up a 1st and 2nd to move up for him and now after 1 year and the early part of this season they're going to dump him?
We would be trading for the 6th overall player at 6th overall pay you better be getting a proven #1 CB. We already have that.
Trade a mid round pick for a solid young #2 or #3 proven CB. I'd say sign one but there isn't one out there.
I can't see trading a strength (when Byrd is on the field) for a luxury. If we want the guy, trade a pick for him. I'm alright with that. Why not have Byrd as either a player or trade asset, and Claiborne. Because the quality of the pick will be based on his play. That may not go above a 3rd rounder despite what Dallas may want. Even then we'd still be paying 6th overall money for a guy that apparently isn't earning it.
