You can’t read a national website or hockey magazine that has the Sabres within a sniff of a playoff spot this year. Most sites peg them for the bottom five in the league, and that was before the Florida Panthers – a new Atlantic Division cousin, remember – went out and added a huge X-factor guy in goaltender Tim Thomas. http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/mike-harrington/suffering-is-optional-so-just-enjoy-the-ride-20131005

hes actually right. this team isnt good, and it will get younger as the season progresses, and vanek and miller are traded. so what do you do? watch the kids, watch players like myers, trying to have a bounce back year. (had a good camp, mediocre game against detroit, good game against ottawa, bad against pittsburg. its a process too) and watch for a high draft pick, something to get excited about.

Does this city have the patience to build a winner like Chicago and Pittsburgh did?

People talk about Buffalo needing to bottom out for once instead of being mediocre... it's finally happening.

Aslong as that POS Regier is here it doesn't matter. He's the problem. I ask you..anybody...how can an a-hole like this keep his job this long and have nothing to show for it? What has he done to deserve to stay. Why has nobody asked this question to his smug ass face? Shoot teams who are winners have gone through changes and this team sticks with this goon?

the sabres have plenty of defensive building blocks. the sabres need to take the best talent in the draft. hell, what they really need to draft is a blue chip goalie. problem is, thats not as easy.
