Since Freeman signed with the Vikes i think this was the best choice. He is already familiar with the offense and has reps with some of the receivers.
Tuel will probably be cut when EJ comes back and then be signed to the Practice squad.

Means EJ is closer to coming back than later I would not be surprised that he would be ready after the Cincy. Everything goes back to normal after this week. Marrone feels Lewis gives them the best shot because he knows the systemComment

I dont disagree that it should be someone within the organization, but why is Thad on the practice squad and Tuel active if you're not going to give him the chance?
Tuel is obviously not playing because he's not going to recognize the looks that the Bengals give and the speed may be too much, but if that was the fear why not call up Lewis weeks ago?I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

i was as disappointed as everyone else in Tuel's performance, but 10 days practice should have us at least see what he really looks like at home. that's a lot easier. bengals are a good defense and all, but if they aren't going to let tuel work with a full week of practice, why were they carrying him as their backup.
I am slowly losing faith in marrone. and if some team comes knocking for pettine, i would hope the bills just fire marrone and hacket and give pettine the job. he's working magic with less talent than the O. but knowing good old russ brandon, pettine will walk out the door, they'll reaffirm their faith in marrone and watch them fall apart on both sides of the ball.Comment
