With guys like Brian Griese spraining his ankle after getting tripped up by his dog, Thomas Jones breaking his hand while answering the phone, Bryan Robinson busting both wrists in a Griese-esque Fido mishap, and David Bowens blowing out a knee while jumping off of a ladder, maybe the NFL should move to a year-round schedule.

After all, hanging out at home is getting downright dangerous.

But although our initial reaction to the recent mishap of Miami defensive end Bowens was cynicism, it turns out that he really did tear his ACL while changing a light bulb.

But it was no ordinary climb-turn-turn-descend deal. A league source tells us that Bowens was replacing a bulb mounted on a 30-foot ceiling in his house.

Hey, Dave -- why not hire someone to handle the riskier aspects of home maintenance? As explained in the Andre Johnson piece above, playing it cheap in the short run can hit a guy hard over the long haul.

At least we now know how many Dolphins it takes to change a light bulb.

Four.

One to change the bulb. Two to carry him away. And one to replace him in the lineup.
