That's a bunch. 27 is my best interpretation of below.:

"10/15/2013 Promoted OL Mark Asper from the Practice Squad to the Active Roster. Signed OL Bryant Browning and LB Jacquies Smith to the Practice Squad. Released OL Colin Brown from the Active Roster and DE Jamie Blatnick from the Practice Squad.
10/14/2013 Signed QB Matt Flynn. Placed DB Jonathan Meeks on Injured Reserve/Designated For Return.
10/09/2013 Signed CB Johnny Adams to the Practice Squad.
10/08/2013 Signed LB Ty Powell. Elevated CB Brandon Smith from the Practice Squad to the Active Roster. Released LB Marcus Dowtin and CB Johnny Adams. Signed QB Dennis Dixon to the Practice Squad.
10/07/2013 Elevated QB Thad Lewis from the Practice Squad to the Active Roster. Placed K Dustin Hopkins on Injured Reserve. Claimed OL Antoine McClain off waivers. Released OL Sam Young.
10/06/2013 Signed P Brian Moorman
10/04/2013 Released P Shawn Powell.
09/24/2013 Signed DL Jay Ross to the 53-man roster and DL Adewale Ojomo to the Practice Squad. Released DL Izaan Cross from the Practice Squad.
09/23/2013 Placed DT Alex Carrington on Injured Reserve.
09/10/2013 Signed DB Brandon Smith to the Practice Squad.
09/10/2013 Released DT Jay Ross and promoted CB Johnny Adams from the Practice Squad to the Active roster.
09/05/2013 Reached an injury settlement and released FB Drew Smith from Injured Reserve.

Byrd, db injuries, the qb soap opera, the (yearly) OL merry-go-round, kickers, punters, oh my. I give the club credit for their juggling act to date.

The (repetitive) qb injury situation has them floating 4 qbs on the active squad - denying a roster spot and possible game day activation of at least one special teamer, lb, lineman, you name it.

other than injuries, I'm glad the bills are trying to find ways to improve the team.

Same here. I can't recall a club that had such a storm of injuries on critical positions.

I agree, I think between his time in the Burg & in Buffalo under Nix, Whaley has learned a thing or two.

I can remember a club; the Buffalo Bills from 2000-2012

Practice squad additions & deletions shouldn't count except when the player is added to the 53 man roster. All PS players are free agents, just biding their time until they can get added to a 53 man roster.

PS players are a part of the team, practice with the team & are paid by the team.

They are not on the roster and can't suit up on Sunday unless a PLAYER MOVE is made to get them there.

Which is EASILY done. See Thad Lewis as an example.

Any other team in the NFL can grab any player on the practice squad of an NFL team if they are willing to put them on the 53 man roster. So in reality they are not property of the Bills. Just like when we signed Brian Brohm off the Packers practice squad. The guy that many thought had the potential to be our future QB because he was a 2nd round draft pick.

I don't think of the Bills as "star-crossed" ...they're more of a "cluster-****"

Sort of hurts more though when it's messing up something to look forward to instead of things you're already trying to look past.

Yes & when that happens that is a ROSTER MOVE.

I like what they are doing and I think this is Doug Whaley for whom I have high hopes.
