The Fourth of July has come and gone, and unless you're a Cincinnati Bengals fan, you may be wondering why your favorite team hasn't signed its first-round draft choice(s).
As of July 10, Carson Palmer is the only first-rounder to have signed, but this isn't unusual. Last year at this time, only two No. 1 choices -- Houston's David Carr and the Jets' Bryan Thomas -- had inked deals.
Negotiations between teams and those who represent the first-rounders often don't get serious until after July 4, and usually get wrapped up around the first day of the particular team's opening day of training camp....
