mixed bag for sure

still some pretty impressive progress since the start of the season. even in the recent losses theyve showed positive development in important areas. lots less unforced mistakes yesterday probably won them the game as much as marios epic strip sack

its hard to imagine so much youth growing enough to pull off some kind of miracle playoff run from here on out. but from a progress standpoint it will have been a successful first half season even after the big easy massacre next week

Well its definitely a start, back when we stank in the seventies and eighties, we quite often finished 5th, but now thanks to the restructuring of the divisions in 2002 we can't finish less than fourth.

8 teams in the NFC have scored more points than us, putting us at 13th in the NFL. Which is above average, until you consider that we haven't had a bye week yet while others have.

We're actually 17th in the NFL in pts/game, so we're mediocre at scoring points - but we're also 12th in points off turnovers (total, not net) so the defense is inflating the stats as well.

On defense...

24th in points allowed (178)

23rd in yards/game (380.4)

BUT...Bills are only 11th in yards/play (5.2), 4th in sacks (23) and #1 in interceptions (12)

The Bills are 3-4, about to be 3-5, even if we score 30 in NOLA.

Our defense can't stop giving up 2-4 big plays per game which costs us.
