View Full Version : How will BUF game plan against Ben R?

Ben R is a giant of a qb. I've never seen a qb duck, bob, weave like him - let alone one of his size. He's maddening to play against.

His OL has been poor for the last few seasons. Their rbs have a recent spate of injuries.

My recommendation: Strictly cover the edge, rb, rb as pass catcher or any wr. Whack their TE at the LOS. If the TE releases, they are up to something. Ben R sees the middle. Watch for longish hitches that cut in. Even the worst receiver on that team knows that Rothleisberger buys time.

On offense: Polamalu is in his twilight, but he still leads with his head, bounces in an out before the snap, and is more than capable of unnerving whatever youth that lines up under BUF's Center.

Whack him like the rest of the AFC North does.

i think you need to keep bringing the heat like they have. because if you let ben throw with time, it's going to end poorly

The Steelers OL has been brutally BAD.

It's 2013, not 2010.

If the Bills stuff the run, they will kill Ben. They need balance on offense to threaten anyone.

Got ya, then let's trade CJ and FJ for Big Ben!

Not only has Pittsburgh's offensive line been bad, but they have significant injury concerns on the line right now. Both starting tackles are on the injury report, one probable, one questionable. A backup tackle, Mike Adams, is also questionable. The player who lines up at right tackle, and will be facing Mario Williams a lot of the time is named Whimper. Really he is. Rothlisberger is a big tough QB to be sure, but he's going to be facing heavy pressure Sunday.

Gotta pressure him as said above. Make him eat some dirt. The field is going to be in bad shape, not sure if that is better for the offense or defense.

Ben gets hit yearly. He holds the ball too long. Always has, always will.

It's hard to say he takes a beating because his line is bad because of the way he plays.

He takes a beating because he tries extending plays.

It is true Ben takes a beating because he extends plays, but this year he has a REALLY bad line in front of him as well.
