With the report that the Buffalo Sabres have received permission to talk with Jason Botterill, the current assistant general manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins, here's a brief look at the 37-year old.
Botterill is in his fifth full season as assistant general manager with the Penguins. He was promoted to that position after working two seasons as the directory of hockey administration with the organization, where his primary responsibilities include managing the salary cap and overseeing prospect development.
Botterill played four seasons at Michigan leading the program to an NCAA championship in 1996. He was a first-round draft pick (20th overall) by Dallas in 1994. He played in 88 games in the NHL, including 36 games over the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons in Buffalo. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/...l?ref=bcr#more
