other than Carpenter, we suck. We've got so many returners and we can't do anything. We cover well at home but suck away. We need a new ST coach.

and carpenter wasn't their first guy.

justin rogers i think lost his chance at the NFL. Terrible DB, takes blatant penalty on a punt. i can't imagine him sticking around long after the last game of the season.

Maybe the ST coach should have stuck out his leg and tripped the Cincinatti returner after the Bungals tackled our gunner from behind.

look up his resume. Just like Jauron , his unit has regressed the longer he stayed as ST coach. The only thing he has going for him is that he's "friends" with Marrone.

The Lions also finished last in net punt average and 31st on kickoff returns.

According to STATS, LLC, the Lions became the first NFL team to give up a kickoff and punt returns for TDs in successive weeks since they first began keeping such data in 1940.

Yeah, we couldn't possibly have a bad player or coach in Buffalo. The other team must have cheated.

At least Mckelvin was useful under Dehaven. Now we have Goodwin too.

Are you telling me that last years defense was not on Wanny? It was the players' fault?

It's the coaches job to get the players to execute. McKelvin was able to execute under Dehaven. Penalties are on the coaches too.

Somehow, I don't think Doug Marrone will take your call.

BTW, McKelvin decides if he is going to return a punt or if he is going to fair catch and I'm sure the ST coach caused Moorman to drop a perfect snap.

Also, even though we throttled a division opponent yesterday, isn't it just like some Bills' Fans to find something to ***** about and find a coach they think needs to be fired.

i thought this is a mb. Don't think Marrone will read my posts either but I think I am allowed to post where I think we are weak at. The ST unit is the weakest unit on this team.

I have been accused of being a homer a lot here. Doubt I am one of the guys that should be accused of looking for things to ***** about.

Our ST got OWNED by Wanstedts st. If Marrone decides to keep Crossman, he can go down with him. Even Chan Gailey was able to do something with this ST

I commented on this in another thread.

As one of Crossmans biggest critics, I have to give him credit, the special teams has really turned it around & is playing great.

Colton Schmidt, your next GREAT Bills punter.

KO return for TD
Muffed punt recovery
Blocked punt
3 of 4 punts inside the opposing 20.
One KO return to Miami 35... no other starts outside the 20.
One FG missed (hit upright).

The kicking teams have been a very pleasant surprise this year. Schmidt has been pinning the other team back, and Carpenter has only missed one field goal all year and that was mostly because I think his leg was getting tired.

I simply cannot believe the fish gave up on Carpenter.

Was it a cap move or something?

Not really, the Fins gave up on him because he had a down year the year before he lost his job.

The Fins thought they had the next big thing, now I'm sure they wish they still had Carpenter.

And '12 wasn't his worst year. He was only 15/26 from 40+ in '10. He had a good season in '11, but they ran out of patience in '12 when he went 10/15 from 40+ and drafted Sturgis out of Florida.

Carpenter went 14/17 from 40+ last year for us including 4/6 from 50+. The miss yesterday was hopefully an aberration and not a foreshadowing of his every-other-year-yips. He's only 28. He could be just hitting his stride.

Our punt return team needs to get better. Opposing gunners just blow by our guys and it is leading to way too many fair catchers for our returners.

Reminds me of the old days when Special teams with Tasker & Norwood really were special.

I remember Norwood winning a lot of games for the Bills.

I remember Norwood for making extra points exciting! He missed 5 over his last three seasons. In his defense, his leg must have been getting tired what with the Bills racking up 50+ TDs each of those years.
