WGRZ reported on the 6 o'clock news that Pat LaFontaine will give Mike Peca Sabres player from 1995-2000 an interview in the upcoming weeks for a chance to become GM of the Sabres. Peca is GM and coach of the OJHL Buffalo Jr. Sabres and has the Jr. Sabres in first place with a 16-5-0 record. He was also captain and a Sabres fan favorite also he has great passion and respect for Sabres intrim head coach Ted Nolan. LaFontaine said in the press conference that the next GM would pick the next head coach and if Peca is picked as GM there is no doubt he would keep Nolan as coach. Peca's biggest accomplishment came in 1999 as he captained the Sabres and leading the them to the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals.

Alright, this is starting to feel a little weird and incestual. SOME outside blood might be a good idea...

Not trying to prejudge this regime..but if someone who is pretty much a lock to keep Nolan is hired, I'd be questioning again if Terry Pegula will ever put his feelings aside in hockey decisions.

Pretty big step up from OHL.

the OHL would be a big step up from the OJHL.

I like peca, and if they feel he has a future in the front office, make him a scout or something. i assume assistant GM isnt changing, correct?
