In Canada's 4-2 win over Finland in exhibiton play Connor Mcdavid and Sam Reinhart played together on a line centered by Bo Horvat. That line was the best line for Canada Reinhart had a assist and MCDavid had 2 assists. McDavid was very impressive and was Canada's best player. Aaron Eckblad scored Canada's 3rd goal with a slap shot a few feet inside the blueline thru the finnish goalies five hole. Eckblad played a very strong 2 way game and seems to be a lock to make the Canadian team

Rasmus Ristolainen did not play in this game but is expected to play next week when the real games start

Sweden beat the USA 4-2 in exhibition play. It appears JT Compher did not make the USA final roster which is disappointing. A USA player to watch is Jack Eichel who is considered the No.2 prospect in the 2015 NHL draft. Eichel gets lost in all the Connor McDavid hype and buzz but Eichel has loads of talent with a Brett Hull type shot

thats puzzling that compher didnt make it. hes having a great year as a freshman in the big 10 for a michigan team thats one of the best in the country. more often then not, hes on their first line.

Didn't make the team due to a injury at the USA junior camp.. Out 3-4 weeks with a broken foot. The one source in this article claims Compher was expected to be a key contributor.. Damn shame would have been nice to see him play and see how he measured up compared too other players in the tournament

damn. yeah, alot of people are high on compher. ken daniels, red wing commentator who also calls michigan hockey games for FSN detroit raves about the kid every telecast. says hes going to be a real solid player for the sabres. wishes he was wings property.

McDavid and Reinhart on a line... the next part of that should read "in Sabres' uniforms".

Canada lost to Sweden 3-0 in there exhibition match. After 2 exhibition games Aaron Ekblad has been one of Canada's best defensemen which is quite the statement considering Mathew Dumba(No.7 overall 2012) and Derrick Pouliot(No.8 overall 2012)are 2 years older and more experienced than Ekblad yet Ekblad has played better than those 2. Canadian fans are already criticizing coach Brent Sutter for not putting Darnell Nurse on the team

In the game against Sweden Bo Horvat and Sam Reinhart looked like Canada's best forwards which isn't saying much Canada's forwards were unimpressive against Sweden including Connor McDavid who did very little and generated little offense

IF the sabres lose out on reinhart, do you take ekblad and maybe move a young dman like risto for a young C? or just stockpile D?

IF the sabres lose out on reinhart, do you take ekblad

If the draft was tomorrow and Reinhart went No.1 and The Sabres picked 2nd I would take Ekblad without hesitation. It would be hard to say what kind of value I could get back in a young C by trading Risto or Zadorov more than likely Ekblad.. Risto.. Zadorov would all be in the Sabres system to start the 2014/2015 season

Just take Ekblad and win the Cup then draft McDavid with the Isles pick next year and cement the dynasty.

Canada beat Switzerland 4-1 in exhibition play today.. hard game to evauluate tons of penalties meaning not a lot of 5 on 5 play. Jonathon Drouin scored 2 PP goals in the 1st period both 5 on 3. Sam Reinhart had 3 assists in the game assitng on both of Drouins PP goals and in the the 2nd period shorthanded made a nice pass up the middle to Bo Horvat who scored Canada's 3rd goal. Reinhart played quite a bit when Canada was shorthanded

Connor McDavid.... Scored Canada's 4th goal on a breakaway. He played much better today compared to yesterday against Sweden. McDavid seems to be always looking to pass he needs to shoot more. But he definetly has elite skill

Aaron Ekblad.. Another solid game from Aaron. He made a great rush to the net with the puck in the 2nd period to draw a penalty. Aaron should be getting more minutes he looks and plays 2 or 3 years older than he is

Russia beat Germany today 4-1 in exhibition play. There was no live stream for his game so I didn't see the game but reading the summary Mikhail Grigorenko had a goal and 2 assists. Nikita Zadorov had one assist. Grigorenko is projected to play LW on Russia's 2nd line and Zadorov is projected to be paired Russia's 2nd defensive pairing. One German player worth watching is Leon Draisaitl who is projected to go anywhere between No.3 and No.7 the 2014 draft
