All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
How long does it take when a loved one dies before you're back to work?
1 week? 3 weeks?
Not that he's really being missed on the field but seriously?
Hmmm. His 46 year old mother passes and you start a thread like this?
Maybe it should happen to you and then you can tell us.
I think Stevie should take all the time he needs.
One of my employees had the same thing happen. I did the same for him and covered it up with my superiors. I had that latitude and he was out for six weeks.
The selfishness of the American citizen. It's all about Meeeeee.
His mothers funeral is today the 27th, she also died unexpectedly. The circumstances around her death delayed the funeral keeping Stevie away for the week, even if he was back he's too far removed from the game plan to play.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
When my mother died I didn't do anything for 3 weeks. I was a wreck so it's understandable.

You guys, the solution is so simple. Find the crazy kids who are shooting up the schools and have them shoot people getting off planes from West Africa.
No more school shootings, no more Ebola.
Obama would have thought of this already if he wasn't a pinko commie Nazi queer-loving wetback-loving Kenyan Indonesian Muslim.
On my job there were some people who were away for months. Bereavement isn't a process that you can set a standard time limit on. Missing the Patriots game is fine by me then he can have the whole offseason to deal with this loss. His mother was young and I can imagine that it's very devastating for him. Football is probably the last thing on his mind right now and rightfully so.

Football was often the last thing on Stevie's mind when his mom was still alive and well.
We did fine without him last week. I hope that happens again, so it motivates either Stevie to play better or the team to trade him and move on without him, because we are never going to win with him as our #1 WR unless he learns to keep his head in the game (and he hasn't learned by now so I seriously doubt he ever will).
I didn't think he should have played in Jacksonville. He should take as much time as he needs. I'm glad he isn't playing because I think he isn't good but that's neither here nor there.
