Sabres still might get to use their pick this draft, they could end up 11th:

Just to he clear, if the isles end up drafting 11th or higher, the Sabres get their pick the next draft. If they end up 1-10, it's isles optional if they want it to defer the pick to 2015. The pick is via the Vanek trade.

Islanders are a average goalie away from winning some games.

Maybe it's Miller time!

Maybe it's Miller time!

If they had Miller, They make the playoffs.

They gave the Penguins a run for their money in last years playoffs.

They had some really poor play out of the goalie position, Nabokov has been playing with a pulled groin most of the season and just went on IR.

The Sabres asking price for Miller was 3 prospects and a 1st, Now with someone sober in place (Murray) He will be traded or resigned after Sochi.

With the Miller situation the Sabres are not in a position to play hardball with anyone, Either you resign him for $8m or maybe more a season, Or take a 2nd and a prospect.

No bottom feeder is going to part with a top 10 pick for a 33 year old goal tender.

LOL @ The Sabres got a 1st for Gaustad so that means.................................Nothing!!!

this is accurate. while miller has high value, regier asked for too much. and if the isles have goaltending, they are a much better team.

The Isles are 7-3 over their last 10 and looking pretty good these days.... 6 straight road wins. If they keep this up, we'll be getting the 15th or 16th pick at best.

Which is what we expected when we did the trade.

John Tavares has been on a tear the last 7 games. Tied for 2nd overall in points. He has always been productive but now it seems he is finally living up to the hype that was bestowed on him in juniors

He is in his 5th NHL season, That's why I keep saying over and over again loading up on kids is going to take the Sabres 5 years at the very least to get out of this mess.

Regardless of who you draft or when you draft them..

Getting better takes time, which Miller doesn't have.

of course. the rebuild and development will take time. doesnt mean the sabres should trade away those assets.

This all depends on Miller IMO. With the cap going up the ball is going to be in his court to sign a long term deal right now and remain a Sabre for the rest of his career. I guess some people will say it's crazy...but I totally can see it happening.
