Ever visited that city of liberal leanings? I'm surprised that they haven't yet erected statues of Marx and Lenin. :kid:

Carolina Hurricanes did that a few years ago in the playoffs so SBres fans in New York could not buy them.

They're doing the same thing in Denver. I like it. It's called "homefield advantage."

Agreed ...and it's also called " F**k you, scalpers " .

I don't blame them for wanting as many Seahawks fans there as possible instead of 49er fans traveling to the game. They're not the loudest stadium in the league for no reason.

What is Marxist about it I think it's awesome. I'd hope that the Bills would do the same if we magically were good enough to make the playoffs and played the Patriots or something.

Tickets to the Seahawks' divisional round playoff game went on sale on Dec. 31 and lasted all of 26 minutes (http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Seahawks-playoff-tickets-sold-in-under-30-minutes-238278361.html).

I'm not so sure about that. I'd be willing to bet they'd have credit cards from all over the US. And they'll be the market where those who couldn't get tix will go.

If only the Sabres would restrict ticket sales to Leafs games to the lower 48. ;-)

I went to the World Series in Denver a few years ago. Because Coors Field is so much larger than Fenway and because they didn't include these restrictions, Boston fans found it cheaper to hammer the Rockies website and get face value tickets + airfare then to try to get into their own stadium.

I understand why there are doing this-but it would suck to be a Seahawks fan living out of state...

I thought Communism was about everyone sharing everything. Isn't this the opposite?

wow

wow indeed.

Restricting tix sales so that the SEA crowd can raise the noise and influence the outcome as has been the case for the past several seasons, instead of letting the players do that. IIRC, they tried to set a decibel level this season.

Your fellow citizens spew about fair play and such all the time. Not in this case, eh? True colors...

If this was true Marxism, the tickets would be free and you would wait in line for two days to put your name in a hat. Then, 200 government workers would call out names all the next day.

Well... actually...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue_of_Lenin,_Seattle

It's actually pretty awesome. Some dude imported it from Czechoslovakia back in the 90's, and it got put up in the middle of the super eccentric, very artsy (Dave Matthews lives there) Fremont neighborhood, a block away from a cold war era missile fuselage, and a few more blocks away from a giant troll eating a VW Beatle under a bridge. (Same neighborhood also has a huge solstice parade with hundreds upon hundreds of naked cyclists... and believe it or not, some of them are even quite pleasant to look at.) Lenin often gets giant garments and costume pieces put on him, especially during holidays.

Well, stuckincincy isn't too far off in his description although restricting tickets isn't a great example. More to the point would be the University Of Washington and it's students voting down a proposed memorial for Greg "Pappy" Boyington on the grounds that it glorified war. A war fought for the survival of the world. The treehuggers and peace loving peoples of the Pacific Northwest thought it abhorrent.
