View Full Version : SUPERBOWL FOOTBALL POOL!!

Hello Everyone! I am starting up a Superbowl Football Pool!! This pool is a fundraiser for my son in helps to raise money for him to be a student ambassador this summer!! He will have a chance to raise $400 and the participants of this pool has a chance to win as well. Here is how it works:

I am doing the 100 square pool and selling each square for $10. Here is the template I am using:

http://www.sportsbettingacumen.com/10x10-office-pool.htm

You can let me know what square you would like your name to go in.

Once every square is sold it is time for the drawing and this is how it works:

When every square contains a player's name, it's time for the drawing! Write the numbers 0 through 9 on a piece of paper and place them in a hat. As each number is drawn, write it down in square with "#" on the top row going from left to right. Once all the numbers have been drawn, put them back in the hat and start the drawing over. This time fill in the left column beginning at the top and work your way down until all numbers have been drawn.

At the end of each quarter, match the last digit of each team's score with the corresponding number on the grid. For example: if the score was 10 to 3, you would use the numbers 0 and 3 on your grid. The player's name in the square that interects both numbers is the winner of that quarter.

So 1st and 3rd quarter wins $100

Half time wins $150

and FINAL score wins $250

How I can collect money:

You can Paypal me your money to hippychick7210@gmail.com

OR

if you do not have a paypal account and want to enter you can PM me and I will give you our address TO MAIL MONEY TO.

This pool is being posted on the ZONE and Girlfriends of mine are also selling squares at their office. So these squares will sell fast! Post in this thread or message me and I will post every time a square is purchased and how many remain.

Good luck to all those who enter!

I am afraid I cannot participate, as my lawyer informed that such a pool is illegal - Football, basketball and NASCAR pools are legal only if all the entry fees for the pools are paid out to the participants.

Lecter just messaged me and he is buying 12 squares! !

This has to be edited to the #12 square ONLY.

He said he wanted the 12th square not 12 squares ...

Lol ... I thought Lecter was a gambling fool there for a moment!!

So now we have 10 squares sold...

LOL!

I just did some research and since I am not profiting from the pool it is legal. People do them ALL the time. So the site admins are not risking anything here as I will be posting the final sheet here on the zone and will be posting every persons name and their allocated numbers.

$600 is for winners and $400 is for the fundraiser.

The fundraiser is legit as it is for the People to Peoples foundation.

The ONLY time pools are illegal is if the person who is hosting the pool profits money which I am not.

Help send as GREAT kid.. coastal's step-son... to Europe.I already gave at the office, but I may buy a square.

BTW MV, a football pool is not considered gambling and the proceeds here go to a worthy cause.

Maybe you would like to turn them in and have the powers that be laugh at you.

He is going to get more of an education this summer on this trip then he will in his entire first year of high-school.

I am super proud of my son. He was inducted in the National Junior Honor Society and he is in 8th Grade. He has applied for an International Finance & Law school within the high-school he is going to next year. He will come out of HS with College Credits and this trip will only help him become more educated in our global society. He can earn 10 HOURS of volunteer hours when he is in Ireland preparing meals to feed to the homeless .. how awesome is that!

I seriosuly can NOT be anymore proud and I wish so bad we didn't have to fundraise ONE DOLLAR for this trip. Unfortunately we don't have $6500 lying around to send him. So we are branching out to every one every where and asking for help.

This on. Buy a square for $10 and there is a chance you can turn that $10 into a $100, $150 OR $250 and you are giving him the chance to be $400 CLOSER to his goal.

Its a GREAT WAY TO PAY OT FORWARD PEOPLE!!

Plus I will post pictures of his travels!! :-)

I can personally attest that this is legit. I know both Coastal and Blondie. They are looking to help send their kid on a trip that will be a great educational experience for him.

I would have bought squares myself if this was not for a good cause.

So - if you can, but a square. If you are not interested that is fine as well. But it is not some kind of money grab on their end. That I am sure of.

Come on guys lets show this kid that we support him!!

Lets show him it is OK to reach out and ask for help through these types of fundraisers!

Sad part is OVER 100 of you have viewed this thread. Had the first 100 that viewed it bought ONE square all squares would be purchased and the participants would have their numbers!

Thanks to those who have bought a square and I will continue to post in here until ALL squares are purchased!

I hate to break the news to you but that $400 is profit from the contest.

that is being DONATED to help a kid raise money for his FUNDRAISER.

If you don't want to help don't.

But there is nothing wrong with using a Superbowl pool to HELP him OR any good cause for that matter to raise money. This is an awesome way to teach him to ask for help from others in a unique way. People do this ALL the time.

Hate to break the news to you and every other ******* but KIDS HAVE FUNDRAISERS ALL THE TIME. You can choose to help or you can choose to not help. But I sure as **** don't need to be made to look like I am the one who is profiting in some way out here. I am NOT. None of the money is going to ME.

So, again, you can either choose to help or you can choose to not help.

If you don't want to buy a square then here is his link you can donate DIRECTLY to him:

This isn't a debate thread.

there is a 13 year old kid who is trying to raise around $7,000 to spend 19 days abroad.

Most of us will be lucky to have this opportunity at any point in our lives.

My step-son was nominated to be a student ambassador and to go on this trip because of how he conducts himself in school.

help. Don't help... But please don't take away from what this is...

... an opportunity of a lifetime for a 13 year old young man!

I wish the child the best. Unfortunately his education includes modeling get what you want even when it includes breaking the law. This is not a bake sale it's gambling. Call it what it is don't teach the kid to rationalize bs because it's convenient. Welcome to America ...

If there is nothing wrong with a Class A Misdemeanor then I guess there is nothing wrong with this. Why don't you teach him how to walk into a store and steal an equal amount of merchandise? The penal law says these two things are equal offenses.

Of course, Ole Typo here reminds me of a guy in High School that turned me in for distributing football cards (a gambling device in the '70's, basically a 4 game parlay)

Then again, I guess the view is very different on a high horse and the rarefied air may lead some people to not think clearly.

Let him drop a dime and see what happens. I'm sure whatever law enforcement entity he calls needs a good laugh this morning.

Oh, and just for the record, Mr. Typo. Maybe you should consider that the people that make the laws have changed their mind on gambling, in general. They think it's OK now as long as they get their cut.

Don't feed the bears Blondie. My mother would've done the same thing for me if I had any interest in school at all.

LOL .. thank you.

I do love my son and he really is a GREAT kid. He was inducted in the National Junior Honor Society this year. He was a UN Role Model twice in 7th Grade in his civics class, and he got to go to the USF College and be apart of learning how UN comes together to discuss Global Issues. WHICH this is HOW and WHY his teacher nominated him to be a Student Ambassador ... He has received I think 6 in total "Successful Seahawk" awards (that is an award at his middle school from the teachers they pick their "good" students and give them an award) I NEVER have to ask him to do his homework, he is an AWESOME big brother, he never gets in trouble .. I can go on and on about how good this kid is.

If you see a child this submerged in his studies and wanting to be more submerged in wanting to take part in our Global Society how can you NOT step up and help?? He ended his 7th Grade year with a 120% A in his Civics Class .. LOL ..

My parents NEVER took part in my education. They never instilled it and when I turned 18 my dad left. Never steered me toward college .. nothing. I want more for my kids .. but I also know I can't do it alone. I think Hillary Clinton even once said; "it takes a village to raise a kid" .. will it is going to take LOTS of people to help make this kid become a Student Ambassador.

He is one of our future kids that will one day run this country and he does hope to one day really make a difference in others.

Coastal likes to call him his good little liberal .. one day HE could be part of the United Nations and this is ONE step in maybe and hoping to make that come true.

Thank you for helping him!

Just want to be clear I never said anything about dropping a dime. I just participated with some facts and the idea about a problem in America....basically that we rationalize away too much BS and we shouldn't expect much from society when we aren't willing to go the distance ourselves.

This is a innocent football pool and there's nothing wrong with real gambling in my book. (Pun Intended).

I don't understand the "distance ourselves" and "societal expectations" comments because the states now run the numbers racket whose proceeds were supposed to provide better things for society. Some states allow casinos and now some are in the drug business. The only way to distance yourself is to move out of the country or overthrow the government.

You can liken this pool to what was supposed to happen with the state lotteries. Most of the profits were supposed to go to the education system. The pool will help provide the kid with an educational experience he could never get anywhere else.

You can pick your square if you would LIKE. However the rows and columns have NOT been assigned yet. Read the OP and you will see.

Once ALL squares are have a name then numbers 0-9 will be randomly assigned via this website: printyourbrackets.com/random-numbers-super-bowl-squares.html

So you can pick your square but you wont have your REAL number till they are all sold.

makes it fair I think.

The safety helps my 2 and 2.

The safety on the first snap of the game screwed up a lot of people in pools that actually had the better numbers normally.

My girlfriend had 3 and 7, and those are really good numbers normally. She pretty much got screwed on the first snap (there was a payoff after each quarter).

Ironically, the Seahawks scored so many times (8 times) that they finally caught up with some type of regular ending number...43. There was the 3, but she lost because the Broncos went for the two-point conversion on their only score. Could have been that 3 and 7 came through in the end without that conversion.

Very interesting, I know.
