Who do you guys think will be brought in for the opening if Pettine gets the head coaching job for the Browns?? Who are the best candidates for the job since the DC from the Browns left

There are two options -

1) Our assistant special teams quality control LB coach
2) The current DC of Syracuse

LOL

Wow what an awful team the Bills remain.

If the world were just Pettine would be our head coach instead of that bum Marrone.

My first choice is Wade Phillips. He said on twitter he would come back

Second choice is Pepper Johnson

Wade Phillips <3

The last guy who was a competent HC in Buffalo.

Wade coming back would be way cool... as long as wore a headset.

Wade would be cool, feels unlikely though.

He'd be brought back as a DC no need for the headset. I'm not sure we have the talent though to run a 3-4. As we don't have a true NT and think Mario's better suited rushing the passing with his hand on the ground then as a LB. Toss in Indy was moving to a 3-4 and why they moved Hughes. Don't get me wrong though I think Wade be a great DC it just I question if he'd be a great DC running a 4-3.

Would show that Brandon is in charge now, not Ralph.

Choice no. 2

Mick Foley- Mrs. Foley's little boy.

Not scheme specific;
Adaptable to varying conditions;
Would scare the crap out of Brady in his final years.

We'd have to nab Richard Sherman for the D, though.

Donnie Henderson will be the DC. He's been around Marrone since they were together with the Jets.

and he was a horrible DC with the Jets and the Lions. That said Marrone mentioned that Jeff Hafley position might depend on what happens to Pettine which tells me you might be right and result Hafley being named secondary coach. Or if Pettine sticks around we'd name Hafley the safeties coach.

Wade Philips should be our head coach really.

id love wade back as dc. plus hes the hc in waiting if marrone continues dumb mistakes like no qb coach for your shiny new first round qb

I don't think Wade would ever come back to Buffalo, I can't see him being that desperate.

Hopefully Pettine stays, although it's looking more and more unlikely with each passing day.

If Pettine leaves I would look to try and find somebody with experience in his system unless we could get somebody with a proven track record in here. If there isn't someone already on our coaching staff then look towards the Jets/Ravens coaching tree for a possible candidate to poach.

It would be nice to try and keep some continuity on the defense if he leaves instead of starting over from scratch. At the very least we should try and replace him with somebody who runs a similar defense instead of starting over and looking for players that fit a new system. Try and find someone where the transition would be as small as possible.

Why not just use the "Ask Madden" feature?
